Everyone in our family loves kuih muih. Who doesn't right? They are sweet, full of santan and so addictive. Even health freaks like me cannot resist gorging on them once a week. But be careful not to over indulge in kuih muihs as they are empty calories, darn fattening and can cause diabetes if you eat too much of them. Now, even Baby loves kuih and her favorite is the 'kau chung koa' or 9-layer kuih.
She even exclaims "hmmmmmm....." whenever she eats those kuih muih haha!
Onde onde is her other favorite and mine too. So unhealthy eh? But it's ok if you eat these kuih once a week to satiate your sweet cravings :D
Just look at her, as sweet as those 'kuihs'. So CUTE, that cheeky smile...feel like squeezing and kissing her right now...missing her even more.
ReplyDeleteThe cheeky smile!!!! Sweeter than the kuihs leh!!!
ReplyDeleteI always frequent a Malay stall selling kuih muih near our neighbourhood after Ian's music class every Saturday. Yes, Onde onde is one of our favs too!
ReplyDeleteMy two daughters love 9 layers kuih as well. They like to peel the layer one by one to eat.
ReplyDeletei love 'char kor' and my fav is bingka ubi. Amber's fav is the 9 layer kuih lapis.. esp from Nyonya Colors. She'll peel n stick each layer to her tongue before eating. I think she's having more fun than enjoying the kuih..
ReplyDeleteI love the first pic of Cassandra.. soo baby and soooo CUTE !
aww..baby is so cute. i think she poses like her Sher jie jie now :D Are you still spoonfeeding her milk?
ReplyDeleteYes, I am still spoonfeeding her milk 3x a day :(
ReplyDeleteLet them enjoy kuih as kids at that age can handle those calories! Bought kuih here last w/e...CAD1 for one pc of kuih talam or lapis, 3 ondeh for CAD2! There are some easy recipes out there for onde...did it here before and turned out quite well.
ReplyDeletei love onde onde too....cant say the same for my girls though. your gals are really adventurous eaters esp aly. don't blame them though coz got good cooks in the house! ;)
