Cambodian Maid Anyone?

Anyone has experience with Cambodian maids? This maid agency which I went to this morning supplies Cambodian maids too. According to the agent who's Alycia's classmate's parents, Cambodian maids are less likely to have tricks up their sleeves as compared to Indon maids and chances of them running away are also lower. The only downside is communication barrier as they only know very basic English. Their salaries are the same with Indon maids at RM500 per month but the agency fee is slightly higher. I may consider Cambodian maids this time. Later in the evening I may go to the agent's house to interview the maids myself.

  4. You mean the maid is already in Malaysia? *tsk, tsk*

Well, after I came back from Siem Reap, I would think hiring a Cambodian maid is much better than an Indonesian maid. Some can understand English and Mandarin as they have 70 Tv channel there, HBO, Chinese, disney... you will be surprised.

  7. My Cambodian maid is good and loves my grandson like her own son. She overcame her language barrier within 6 months but we have to be very patient and understanding. We must speak slowly and clearly and willing to repeat in a non threatening way. Nowadays I take her to help other Cambodian maids who have language problems with their new employer. My friends are very appreciative of her help.
I know she misses her own son and family and I buy phone cards for her to call home once a month.
I also take her to Cambodian church service once a fortnight. This helps to strengthen her emotionally, spiritually and improves our relationship.

  8. Can you share with me the Agent Contact(s) that supply the Cambodian maids? What's the agent fees, and Maid's salary per month?
I heard some friends saying that some are lazy and sleeps all the time. Some said theirs are good. What's your opinion?
By the way, I am located in Penang.

    Thanks.

  9. have you got ur Cambodian maid? If yes, is she good? Can I have the agency's name and contact number, pls?

I am having a Cambodia maid at the moment, but she is not very good. Always show 'black face'. Cannot tell her not to do something, she will show her 'black face' and expect to be given a share of whatever we eat. If not, 'black face' again.

Cannot tahan her anymore. Thought of changing.

    Hope you could help.

    TQ

  10. same here, my cambodian maid also always shows her 'ugly face' very often. I suggest to take an inexperienced and never work in other country before. My maid has had 2 years experience in a family before I took her recommended by the agent.

The first question i asked her was " why did you leave your former employer?" She said "I don't like them"

She eats very little rice (less than 1/2 cup rice per meal) but always finish all the dish (portion like 4 potatoes), so the next day lunch time (I do not cook lunch, i have no time to eat at all) she told me she only have one egg, not enough. Infact, still got soup and meat everyday.

She finishes 2kg milo in 3 weeks, one jam (450g) in 2 weeks. Finish one year sanitary supply in just 3 months. Finish one toilet roll in one week. Shower 5 times a day, brush her teeth after every breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner and supper. Go toilet every hour.

Always touch her pimples, head and toes. Sneak out during midnite when my husband was on business trip. My husband caught her was not around in the house when my husband back home from airport around 2am. Waited until 4 am still had not seen her back. somemore wore my confinement nanny's shoe. After came back, she forgot to put back the key, when my husband asked her where she went last nite, she said she didnt go to anywhere. Later we found the keys in her room in front of her.

In conclusion, my maid is very clever to take advantage, show ugly face when we ask her to do thing faster and dishonest to us.

  11. please dont get Cambodian maid!! they are really stubborn. Language is not a issue. They generally can learn very fast. But super lazy! Only want good food. Food which is no good will not eat. no manners and think is alright to eat and use the employer stuff without asking. Many of my friends who have cambodian maid face the same problem. Anyway, they are ban now
