My Sanrio Bedsheet Haul: Below RM100 for 4 Sets

Haru loves sleeping on my bed. The funny thing is, I never allowed her on my bed when we were living in KL. For five years after we rescued her from the streets, she slept on her own little bed in the living room.

But ever since I brought her back to Ipoh in December 2025, this little fella has decided that sleeping with Mum is the way to go. 😹

The problem? I have OCD tendencies, and I’m allergic to her fur. As much as I love Haru and treat her like my baby, I really don’t like having cat fur all over my bed. But how do you have the heart to kick your fur baby out of your room when she just wants to sleep beside you? 🥹

So, I came up with a compromise. I cover my bed with a bedsheet and wash it every day. This way, there’s minimal fur on my bed, and I don’t end up sneezing or having itchy skin and eyes. Win-win!

Recently, I discovered on TikTok that you could get king-size bedsheets for under RM20. Being the bargain hunter that I am, I just had to buy a set to try! 😂

When the first set arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality was actually pretty good, and the prints were so cute!  Then I went back to order another set, then another, and now I have FOUR sets of king-size bedsheets for less than RM100 in total! 😍

What a steal! Now I can change and wash my bedsheets every day without worrying about running out of clean ones. Fresh bedsheets every day, happy Mum, happy Haru!

Of course, there’s one tiny problem. I have to make sure this little maniac doesn’t suddenly get the zoomies and start parkouring around my room and across my bed. Otherwise, my new bedsheets will be shredded in no time! 🤣

Most of my existing bedsheets already have threads fraying and coming loose thanks to her little claws. Apparently, having a cat means accepting that your home furnishings are now her personal scratching playground. 🙄😂

My Favourite 10/10 Sale Hauls: Peppermint Leaves & Longjing Green Tea

Two of my most recent favourite online sale hauls are dried peppermint leaves and Longjing green tea leaves! 🍃

I've ditched tea bags for a few years now because of concerns about micro and nanoplastics. I used to cut open tea bags and pour the tea contents into my cup to brew, rather than steeping the bags directly in hot water. Now, I've taken things one step further by switching to whole tea leaves instead of the tea powder or crushed tea commonly found in tea bags.

And I've discovered that whole dried leaves are so much more aromatic! 

My latest haul included peppermint leaves and two types of green tea leaves, and I'm especially loving the peppermint and Longjing green tea.

🌿 Peppermint Tea

The peppermint leaves brew into a wonderfully refreshing cup with a strong, cooling peppermint flavour. I love drinking this in the afternoon and evening when I need something refreshing!

🍵 Longjing Green Tea

Longjing is my favourite type of green tea, and the aroma of these whole leaves is simply lovely! I drink it in the morning and before 2pm, as I prefer to avoid caffeine later in the day.

The flavour and aroma are on another level compared with the green tea I've had from tea bags. Once you've experienced the fragrance of these whole leaves, it's hard not to appreciate the difference!

Another 10/10 Sale Haul Arrived!

More of my 10/10 Sale haul has arrived! 

One of my favourite purchases from this haul is this pretty lilac mesh Zumba skort. The material is ultra-soft, and I love how comfortable it is!

The inner shorts don't dig into my down under like some shorts do, and the waistband is super comfy too. No tight elastic digging into my waist and leaving those annoying indentation marks. Comfort is everything, especially when I'm dancing and exercising!

This skort was shipped from overseas, but it took less than a week to arrive. That's pretty fast, isn't it?

For your reference, I am 42kg, waist is 66cm. I ordered a size M, which is actually a little big on me, but I prefer it this way. I like my workout clothes to be comfortable rather than clingy. 😁

Soon-to-Be 54, But Still Loving My Bright Colour

Another parcel from the 10/10 Sale trickled in today. Yayyy! So happy! 🥳📦

This time, it's my new gym wear from Shopee — a pleated skort in violet and a cross-back spaghetti-strap top with an attached bra. I absolutely love the beautiful contrast between the colours! 💜🩷

I love bright colours. My life is pretty dull as it is, so I need some bright colours to jazz things up a little,  😂🌈

Not bad for a soon-to-be 54-year-old auntie, righttttt? 😜💪🏻

Okay, time to head out for my brisk walk soon! I think it stopped raining.

It's been so hazy in Ipoh, and it's been raining almost every evening for the past two weeks. I've missed my forest-bathing therapy for so many days! 🌳🍃 Hopefully, the weather will improve soon so I can get my much-needed dose of nature again.

My TikTok Shop Shopping Adventure: From 0.1 Sen Wet Wipes to Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner

I recently started shopping on TikTok! In case you didn't know, I have two TikTok accounts, and that's where I started noticing all the TikTok Shop ads popping up in my feed.

I ignored those videos for the longest time until I spotted a 0.1 sen deal for 5 packs of large kitchen wipes. Wah, 0.1 sen only! So I thought, okay lah, even if I got scammed, it's practically free mah!

Guess what? The wet wipes arrived just two days later, and they were actually of good quality!

That got me curious, so I started watching more product videos and browsing the TikTok Shop. Before I knew it, I was buying king-size bedsheets for less than RM20. Not once, not twice, but THREE times! LOL!

Then I came across a fantastic deal for Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner. I had bought a bottle from Shopee for RM15 not too long ago. But on TikTok Shop, I spotted a deal for 3 bottles at just RM24. Wah, that's only RM8 per bottle! Almost half the price I paid previously. How could I resist? Into my shopping cart it went!

So, what's my verdict on the Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner?

I'm pretty impressed with it! My washing machine smelled fresh and lemony after cleaning, unlike the washing machine cleaning tablets someone gave us previously, which left our washer smelling awful for an entire week.

The drum looked sparkling clean, and even the rubber seal around the door looked cleaner. My laundry also came out smelling fresh and lemony.

Here's how I used it: I poured the cleaner into the detergent drawer and applied some to the crevices around the door seal and drum. I also used a few wet wipes with the cleaner to wipe away some of the black, mouldy-looking stains on the rubber seal. Most of the black stains came off but not all - those are permanent moldy stains.

Of course, this is just my personal experience, but so far, I'm happy with the results!

My 10/10 Sale Haul Is Done!

I'm officially done with my 10/10 Sale shopping for now! Now comes the fun part — waiting for all my shopping loot to trickle in, one parcel at a time.

The only thing already making me happy is my new chic gym top, which arrived today! It looks so nice, and I can't wait to wear it to Zumba soon. The best part? I got it at a steal on Lazada!

Now, let's see how long I can resist shopping before the next sale rolls around.

P.S. I'll probably be stocking up on my walnuts during the month-end sale. A girl's gotta have her healthy snacks, right?

10 Months Without Junk Food — Do I Miss It?

For the longest time, nuts have always been my go-to snack. They’re nutritious, filling, relatively low in carbs and, when eaten in reasonable portions, generally have much less impact on blood sugar than the usual sugary or highly processed snacks.

Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fats and are great for heart and brain health. Almonds are packed with vitamin E, magnesium and healthy fats, while cashews give you magnesium, copper and other important minerals. And of course, they’re all much more nutritious than a packet of Twisties! 😆

I do miss eating snacks like Twisties, Doritos, Mamee and Cheezels. But I know they’re the kind of food that can easily make me overeat, fat, and they’re not exactly doing my body any favours.

I may look healthy, slim, and fit on the outside, but on the inside… that’s another story and another long write-up for another day. 😂

So I had to say goodbye to most of my favourite junk food. Now, whenever hunger pangs strike, I reach for my nuts instead.

And after almost 10 months of not buying junk food since moving back to Ipoh, I realised something quite surprising — I don’t actually miss them anymore.

It probably helps that I don’t live with my daughters now. When we were all under the same roof in KL, I used to buy loads of junk food to share with them. They were happy, I was happy, and we happily munched on junk food together.  What great way to bond, LOL! 😂

But now it’s just me, my folks in their 80s, my nuts and my much more boring-but-healthier snack life. 🤣

Anyway, even before the 10/10 Sale started, I had already restocked my stash of roasted cashews, almonds and chickpeas from Lazada.

They’re really fresh, crunchy and, unfortunately, quite addictive. Once I start munching, stopping is another problem altogether. 😂

Shopee and Lazada Poison Post

If you’re a regular shopper on Shopee and Lazada, you’ll know there are sales at least 3 times a month. Minimum! Sometimes even more.

There’s the same-digit date sales (9/9, 10/10, 11/11, etc), Mid-Month Sale and Pay Day Sale. And honestly, some things are so much cheaper than what you’ll find in supermarkets and even 99 Speedmart.

The padded gym wear items are also much cheaper than branded ones. And if you know which stores to buy from, the quality can actually be really good.

So… what was my damage for September? 😅

Lots of gym wear, shampoo, conditioner, walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseed meal, organic lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, Top Glove nitrile gloves, wet wipes, hanging tissues, bedding… and probably a few things I’ve conveniently forgotten. 😂

But I think I saved more than RM100 (maybe more) by buying these during online sales instead of buying them elsewhere.

So sorry for this poison post. 🤣
