Flourless Orange Cake — My Favourite Low-Carb Treat!

Mum recently baked this absolutely delicious flourless orange cake for me because she knows how much I love keto and low-carb cakes. ❤️

This is actually one of our family’s favourite cakes back in KL too.  We used to get our flourless orange cake from Nutmeg @ Bangsar Village.  My second daughter, Sherilyn, used to love baking this  cake for us, so it brings back lots of lovely memories.

What makes this cake so special is that it uses whole oranges — skin, pulp and all! 🍊 The oranges are blended and briefly boiled before being mixed with almond flour/almond meal, eggs and Lakanto sweetener, a sugar alternative that is popular among people following low-carb or sugar-conscious diets.

And the best part? Despite being dairy-free, oil-free, butter-free and gluten-free, this cake tastes absolutely superb! It is incredibly orangey, fragrant, moist and so, so delicious. 😋🍊

This is one of those cakes I know I will never get bored of. I could honestly eat a slice or two of it every single day!

Best of all, it satisfies my cake cravings while fitting into my low-carb way of eating, so I can enjoy it without feeling guilty. ❤️

Thank you, Mum, for baking my favourite cake for me! 🥰🍊🍰

You can watch the video on how the cake is made on my Facebook page.

This is the mug cake version, microwaved and easier to make. I love both versions.

Sinful Week Of Cake Indulgence

Remember my earlier post on my mil's bakes and makes? I mentioned that I will 'place my order' with my mil for my favorite pandan chiffon cake? Well, she did bake a very yummy pandan chiffon cake for us the next day :D It was so delish that the cake was walloped in just 1 day and she made another one a week later. I had placed order for it again and she shall bake it next week :D

Here's my mil's bakes and makes last week:

Japanese milk buns...

Pandan chiffon cake. I had forgotten to snap a pic of the cake while it was still in the cake mould, we were all too excited to wallop the cake!

Soft cream cheese cake...

Last week, there was also my favorite Tiramisu cake from Alexis Bistro, which my hubs bought for my birthday.

Now you know why I have to force myself out from bed every morning to jog and to work out in the gym eh! If laziness takes over me, I can be rest assured of getting flabs and fats in every part of my body from head to toe in a matter of just 1 month of glorious sinning!

Green Tea Chiffon Cake

This green tea chiffon cake is one of the best I have tasted. It's from this bakery that we regularly patronize near our house. If I want to get this cake, I have to be at the bakery early, else they will all be snapped up in a jiff. It's ultra soft, not too sweet and has red beans sprinkled on top. I can even chomp down the entire cake myself in a day, but of course I won't do that.... gotta watch the calories and my waist line!
