Video Of Cass Solving The Rubik's Cube (Part 1)

This is a short video of Cass solving the Rubik's Cube. It was taken today, after lunch at Oiso Korean Restaurant.

She can now complete  any one color in under a minute. In this video, she took 1 minute 4 seconds. Maybe she was a tad tensed that I was filming her :D

For Alycia, she can solve the entire Rubik's Cube (all colors) in under 2 minutes.  Cass is aiming to achieve her che che's prowess soon.

Cass at 8 years 5 months.

Alphabet Board Puzzle

I bought this alphabet board puzzle for Sherilyn more than 2 years ago, when she was 2+ years old. She liked it a lot and learnt her ABCs through playing with this board puzzle, apart from all the educational VCDs. 2 weeks ago, I fished out this board puzzle and introduced it to Baby. She was fascinated with the colorful ABCs but she got frustrated when she did not know how to put them into the right slot. I tried to teach her but she was a tad impatient and threw them all over the floor!

Perhaps it's still too early to introduce her to board puzzles and jig saw puzzles. I'll just stick to books, flash cards and VCDs in the meantime.

New Toy From Koo Mah

When koo mah was here last week, she brought Alycia and Sherilyn to Toys R Us and asked the girls to choose their own toys. Of course, kids being kids, they chosed the largest toy they could set their eyes on and got this. It's a writing desk with a clock, a magnetic board, magnetic alphabet and numbers, marker pens, eraser, a battery operated desk lamp and a drawing ruler.

When they reached home, they were so excited that they did not even take their afternoon nap and pestered my maid to assemble the toy for them. For 2 days, there was a tug of war on the stool and on who gets to sit at the desk. After a few days and as expected, the desk is now lying at the corner of our living room and they don't fight over it anymore.

New Books and Jigsaw Puzzle

I got some cheap Bumblebee books, produced locally by Pelangi from MPH for the gals on Sunday. They only cost between RM1.90 to RM3.90 each. The words are huge and there are colourful illustrations on the pages. I also got Alycia a 48-piece jigsaw puzzle which only cost RM5.90. I saw some Dr Seuss books and I was so tempted to buy them but they are way out of my budget, costing RM30 and above. Well, I may buy them if I get to earn more from paid posts.

New Toy

This is the new toy that daddy bought Alycia and Sherilyn from Toys R Us last Friday. It's a school tent, to complete the yellow school bus tent that daddy bought them one month ago. This school bus tent is both educational and fun to play with. Alycia and Sherilyn love to pour all their toys inside and sleep inside the tent and pretend they are camping.

One side of the school tent has an easle where the gals can affix a piece of paper to it and draw. There are also prints of the letters of the alphabet on the side of the tent.

The other side of the tent has a detachable clock with movable hour and minute hands. The tent also comes with alphabet and numbers pieces with velcro at the back that are attachable on straps of velcro on the tent. I can teach the gals mathematics and spelling on the walls of the tent.
