The Little Dare Devil

My drama queen is a little dare devil.  She is sociable, daring, creative and adventurous.  She would take part in almost all the competitions organized by her school, though she may not be good in the field.  When she was 6 years old, she took part in an inter-kindergarten singing competition. She went up the stage and sang solo in front of hundreds of people, complete with a p2r clipped to her costume. I was really proud of her, though she did not win. What mattered was she was braved enough to go up the stage and strut her stuff.

Cool Monitor Speakers

A few months before I turned 15 years old in 1988, I begged my parents to throw me a sweet 15 birthday party at home. I remember pestering them day and night, only to get NO for an answer. One day, my dad agreed to throw me the dream party that I wanted. I was totally overjoyed.  Big brother Ray  helped to organize the sound system and managed to borrow some speakers from this friend. Though nothing like those krk rokit 5, the monitor speakers were nonetheless cool and made my party magical. It was a party that I will always remember for the rest of my life :)

Attacked By Virus

My PC has been attacked by some malicious worms. Since yesterday, I have been unable to access any of my documents saved in Word and Excel. The IT guy who came to fix my PC the other day did not inform me that my anti-virus has an expiry date and the anti-virus software free-trial run had expired recently. Bummer, I have asked him to come and rectify this problem today. Lesson learnt for me – always back up my documents in a flash drive or an external hard disk. I must go and hunt for some Best Buy flash drives and an external hard disk now.

Our Memorable Fishing Trip In Langkawi

Several years ago, hubby and I and our friends went to Langkawi for a holiday. We chartered a fishing boat and went round the island fishing. It was my first fishing experience and I loved it. It was a bountiful fishing trip and we harvested a big bag of fresh fish. After the fishing trip, we then proceeded to the restaurant in the Langkawi Yacht Club and got the chef to cook the bag of fish for us in a variety of styles. Those were the freshest and tastiest fish dishes we had ever eaten. Since the memorable trip, hubby and I had always wanted to return to Lankawi for another fishing trip but we have to buy some fishing tackle and fishing accessories first before we embark on our trip. I think our gals will find a fishing trip thrilling for them since it will be their first ride on a fishing boat.

Wonders of Progesterone

I had always thought that progesterone is used only as a Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) by women suffering from Menopause but much later, I had learned that the benefits of using progesterone is manifold.

When I was pregnant with Alycia and Sherilyn, a blood test showed that I had very low levels of progesterone, which means that I am at high risk of a miscarriage, as the hormone progesterone is important to sustain a pregnancy. I was prescribed progesterone by my gynecologist to be taken orally and through insertion from week 6 through week 14 of both my pregnancies. With my 3rd pregnancy this time, I was also prescribed this life-saving hormones until week 12 of my pregnancy.

I was worried of the side effects of consuming too much progesterone but I was reassured by my doctor that natural progesterone does not cause any harm to the fetus. Thank God both my girls were born healthy and beautiful.

I Need A New Set Of Cookware

Most of my pots and pans had been damaged by the great flood that swept through out house last year. We had bought some new ones but my maid has spoilt them – she was boiling some barley water one day and had forgotten to turn off the fire and our stainless steel pot is now as black as charcoal. She also tends to forget to use a soft sponge to scrub our non-stick pans, resulting in scratches on the non-stick pans. I’ve read that it is highly toxic if we consume the burnt scraps from the non-stick pan. It’s high time that I get a new set of berndes cookware as this brand of cookware is highly durable and non-reactive with food. My aunty who uses Berndes cookware told me that the stainless steel pots are made with high quality stainless steel in 5 layers and non-stick surface which make cleaning after cooking a breeze. I always believe in getting good quality cookware as they are durable and can last a long time.

Hot Tub Spa In My Backyard

It would be really nice if we could place a hot tub spa at our backyard as we have ample space at our backyard to place a portable medium-sized one. I’ve seen a number of these hot tubs on sale at HotTubsHeadquarters.com and the one shown in the picture below costing only $945 can fit nicely at our backyard. My 2 girls love squeezing themselves into their tiny baby bath tub together during their bath time and pretend they are swimming in the pool. If I get this hot tub, not only will my 2 girls get to swim comfortably in the warm water, I’m sure they will be delighted to see bubbles shooting out from the massage floor. As for me, I can’t wait to have a nice massage therapy on the tub everyday, after a hard day’s work. Yes, this tub even comes with powerful dual massaging turbo jets! Oh, what an awesome luxury to have – affordable and practical. Another item on my wish list now!

I Need A Baby Sling This Time

I am going to get myself a baby sling when my 3rd baby arrives next year. With Alycia and Sherilyn, I didn’t see the need to have a baby sling as I was working full-time then and I had many people at home helping me with them – 2 domestic helpers, my mil and my sil. Now that I am a full-time SAHM and left with only 1 domestic helper, I will definitely need a baby sling. It would be so convenient to carry my baby with me on the baby sling while I get to do some household chores or chase after my 2 hyper active toddlers as my 2 hands will be free. I’ve seen some very nice baby slings at Slinglings.com, an online store specializing in baby slings of all types, sizes, motifs and colors at affordable prices.

So if anyone wants to send me a baby gift, do check out Slinglings.com for the baby slings. It would be a perfect gift for me, hint hint!

These are some of the baby slings that I like.

New Wedding Bands For Us

Since our courting days, I always tell my hubby that if he wants to buy me a gift that I’ll really like, buy me not flowers or chocolates. Present me with jewelry and I’ll be the happiest woman around. My hubby still ‘owes’ me a wedding band. It all started when he lost his own wedding band. My hubby has a habit of putting his wedding band everywhere because he doesn’t wear the ring all the time as the nature of his job requires him to handle food and dirty his fingers. So one day, he removed the ring and kept it in his pocket and after that, never found it again. I was very upset that he could loose such an important item and I made him promise to buy another pair of wedding band – one for him and one for me. He has yet to fulfill his promise and I’m still waiting for him to bring us to the jewelry shop to get our new wedding bands.

Wide Screen Projection Television

My 2 girls always fight for the seat that’s in front of the computer each time I read to them from the computer. My 16-inch computer screen is not big enough for the both of them to see the words and pictures at a comfortable angle at the same time. Since we are about to get a new television, I’m really tempted to buy a 60-inch projection television that can be connected to our computer. With such a wide screen, both my girls will have a very good view when I read to them from the computer. The words and pictures will also be magnified, how great that would be and no more cock fights during reading time! I have seen many projection televisions on sale now and I’m just wondering which brand I should be getting – Sony or Samsung?

What's Next Brother?

I couldn't recognize my brother's car when it was parked in front of my house when he came to collect mooncakes from me a couple of weeks back. I noticed something different about his Nissan Sentra car . When I took a closer look at his car, I noticed that he had added yet another accessory to his car, this time a chrome wire billet grille to the front of his car and it really made a great difference to the look of his car. My brother sure knows how to doll up his car. I wonder what car accessories he’s targeting to fix to his car next.

Should I Get A Home Theater Seating Set?

Ever since our sofa set was damaged when a flood swept through our house last year, we have not got them replaced yet. My hubby wanted to get a new sofa set but I told him it’s a hazard to our 2 rascals as they love jumping on it as if they were a trampoline. What I’d like to get instead is a comfortable reclining home theater seating set to be placed in front of our TV so that we don’t have to sit on the floor anymore when we watch TV. I’ve seen a discount home theater seating set selling online at a promotional price recently and even my hubby is keen on it. I still haven’t made up my mind whether to buy it or not. You think I should buy it?

Drug Rehabilitation

Last year, a pastor was invited to my church to give a sermon. It was one of the most touching and heart-warming sermons I’d heard. This pastor was a former drug addict, a hard-core one that is and one day, a Samaritan saved him when he was sprawled under a bridge, high from a drug overdose. The Samaritan (himself an ex drug addict) brought him to a drug rehabilitation center, spread the word of God to him and not only was he completely clean from drugs but he also accepted Christ and soon became a pastor and helped more drug addicts stay clean from drugs. If you know of anyone who are addicted to drugs, alcohol or other dangerous substance, do your part, save a life and advise him/her to seek professional treatment at a drug rehab center.

Swiss Army Luggage

My mum went to the luggage shop at Jaya Jusco Ipoh yesterday to buy a new luggage for her China trip with my dad next month. She called me on her mobile phone to ask me which brand is good. She loves to consult me on brands whenever she goes shopping. She told me she saw a striking red Swiss Army luggage but the price is slightly more expensive than other brands. I told my mum that Swiss Army luggage are guaranteed for life and I wouldn’t mind investing in a good quality luggage that can last me many years. She had bought a cheap trolley luggage costing less than RM100 2 years ago and the wheels came off during one of her overseas trips last year. So it’s proven - cheap things don’t always come with good quality.

My Parents Need New Luggage

My parents will be traveling to China for a vacation next month. Winter will be starting soon in China and my parents are going to shop for some winter clothing and new luggage to put their bulky winter clothing. They also intend to bring along an empty luggage to place the herbs and teapot sets that they intend to buy from China. They will be bringing a total of 4 luggage for their trip and I doubt if they can handle so many luggage. I asked them to leave the empty luggage behind. After all, I am really skeptical about products made in China and I told them to just go and enjoy the trip minus the herbs and souvenirs from China.

Business Expansion

My hubby has always wanted to expand his catering business and set up his own restaurant. I was telling him a few nights ago that he should seriously consider putting his plans into action now. If his plans materialize, he will need to hire more staff, purchase more equipment and I told him that he should also consider getting a financial reporting software for his business for better management of his financial records. As for me, his Personal Assistant, I will need a pay rise from him too!

My Friend's A Millionaire

A friend of mine who was married to a rich American guy and resided in Hawaii for the last 10 years finally moved back to Malaysia. She had gone through a divorce with her husband but it wasn’t a bitter separation. Her ex-husband transferred a condo hotel in Orlando which he had bought for investment to her name and agreed to give her full custody of their kids, plus monthly alimony. Before she came home, she sold off the luxury property through Condo Hotels and got a handsome sum of money from the sale. That’s the advantage of being married to a rich man. My friend is now a millionaire and the money from the sale of the property can last her through her lifetime even if she doesn’t have to work.
