Melagel, My Miracle Gel At Home

I 've tried almost all the cracked heel creams and lotions in the market and none really worked. In my last ditch effort before I resigned to the fact that I shall have to live with unsightly cracked heels with dirt trapped in the crevices (yucks!!) for the rest of my life, I applied Melagel on my heels and VOILA, within just 1 night, I saw and felt the difference on my battered heels. They're so smooth now!  I'm now 1000% convinced that Melagel is my miracle gel for almost all my skin disorders and injuries, including chapped lips. I've been a Melaleuca user for 7 years and now even more convinced that I should not ditch my membership just yet.

Melagel can be purchased from Melaleuca.  Some of the active ingredients in Melagel are melaleuca oil, wheat germ oil, cocoa butter, corn oil, Vitamin E and Vitamin A.

Getting Rid of Bed Bugs

Recently I had some insect bites on my legs and neck. The bite marks were so itchy that I broke my skin several times from all the crazy scratching. Hubs had them too. And he had the suspicion that we were bitten by some bed bugs in our bedroom! Horror!!!

I googled bed bugs bites and could not find convincing answers that we were indeed bitten by bed bites.  But one of the symptoms that I read from the internet states small red bumps or welts in a zigzag pattern or a line.  And the bites on my left leg were in a line. Horror!!

I was not ready to hire an exterminator to our home to rid those bugs (if indeed there was any) using harsh chemicals.  Then I remembered two years ago, Alycia had similar bite marks on both  her legs and they were so serious that I had to bring her to the hospital to get topical medication. And I remembered that I sprayed Sol-U-Guard all over her mattress and after the spraying episode, she hasn't been bitten anymore. Thank God!!!

So I did the same with my mattress. I sprayed Sol-U-Guard generously all over the mattress and left it to dry for several hours before putting back a clean bedsheet. I washed the bedding sheets in hot water and dried them at our balcony.  And praise the Lord, we've not been bitten anymore!!  You have no idea how miserable I was scratching my legs and neck for almost a week until my legs bled.  Now I have ugly scars on my legs 😭.   It's high time I whip out my Frankincense and Geranium essential oils to apply on those unsightly scars.

Sol-U-Guard is a must have emergency spray and disinfectant that I keep in our home - a bottle outside my room and a bottle in the kitchen. It kills my enemy, a.k.a the roach, as well as lizards, ants and other insects safely as it's composed of food-grade ingredients and can be sprayed around children. I use it to disinfect thermometers, toilets, kitchen and just about everything in my home.

This year is the 8th year that I'm on my Melaleuca journey.  The products are affordable and free from  harsh chemicals. If you work hard enough, you can even earn from being a member.  If you prefer to just use the products as a regular member, you can earn loyalty shopping dollars every month, which you can use to redeem products as and when you wish.

My order for March 2020 -- shampoo, lotion, mouth rinse, face wash, skin toner, compact powder and essential oils. Our whole family uses Melaleuca products and love them, even those who initially made unsavoury remarks when they found out that these are direct marketing products. Now, they use them with so much confidence and joy 😂

Cleaning Pillows, Mattresses and Bedding

The other day, one of my blog friends wrote in her blog that she washes her pillows in the washing machine each time she changes the pillowcases. I love the idea of washing my pillows to keep the pillows clean and free from dust mites, head lice and other bugs which are invisible to our naked eyes, which could be nesting and multiplying comfortably deep inside our pillows. I would do the same too if I live in a house with a garden or patio so that I can expose the pillows to the sun.

Living in a condo, we do not have the benefit of exposing our laundry directly to the sun, uncovered. We only get to hang our laundry at the balcony with limited exposure to the sun. Half of our laundry are hung indoors, under the fan.  Living in a condo with such limited space in the kitchen, we cannot even squeeze in a clothes dryer or a dishwasher as our extra space has been taken up by another refrigerator. Yes, we have 2 refrigerators  and built-in cabinets in the kitchen, occupying most of the space..

What I do is that I will sun our pillows and bolsters at least once a week. For bedsheets, pillowcases, bolster cases and blankets, I wash them every week. I also spray our mattresses with Sol-U-Guard disinfectant from Melaleuca to kill any germs and Sol-U-Mel (also from Melaleuca) to kill any dust mites and bed bugs.

That is the best I can do to avoid triggering the allergy button in my kids and I.  We have very sensitive noses and that is the reason why I am such a clean freak.

This is Sol-U-Guard disinfectant from Melaleuca. It kills mozzies, insects and cockroaches very effectively and safely as well.  It's definitely a life-safer for Katsaridaphobians like yours truly :P

Besides killing dust mites, Sol-U-Mel can also remove odors, stains and cleans the air.    Melaleuca products are safe and contain no harsh chemicals and toxic fumes. The main ingredients in their products is tea tree oil aka Melaleuca oil.  Just buzz me if you want to get these products from Melaleuca and I can help you get them at member's price.

How do you clean your pillows?

And how often do you change your bedding sheets?

Do you disinfectant and clean your mattress as well?

Fuss-Free Way Of Spot Cleaning Bags

When we had a live-in maid, she would help the girls scrub their school bags with detergent and then sun the bags for days. Now that we are without a live-in maid, the girls and I have to do this chore ourselves.  Thanks to Pre Spot laundry stain remover from Melaleuca, we can now spot clean the school bags with just a few sprays. For stubborn black stains, I use concentrated Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca and scrub the surface with a piece of wet tissue.  Once thoroughly cleaned with Pre Spot, I spray some Sol-U-Guard disinfectant from Melaleuca onto the bags interior and exterior.  I bet their bags were teeming with germs as the girls place their bags everywhere on the floor and even on the road.

Sol-U-Mel From Melaleuca

During the school holidays, I am even busier than school-going days.  When the girls get bored, they turn mischievous and the tricks from under their sleeves would be unveiled, one by one... like rascal #2 would be doing water color painting inside her bedroom on the WHITE table without lining the table with newspapers or cloth,  thus splattering paints everywhere!!  Next up after reprimanding her, she would wash the palette and paint brushes in the bathroom sink which I have just washed and causing more paint splattering everywhere on the sink, bathroom top and floor... then with her dirty hands, she would put the toilet seat down and pee and then more paint marks on the toilet seat, aaaargh!!!

Here, I don't know which rascal spilled some glue on the white table top. It must be rascal no. 2 coz after reprimanding the girls, she took a magic sponge to try to remove the stain on the table but to no avail... instead caused a big puddle of water on the table. Then I remembered I have just bought Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca. I dabbed a little of concentrated Sol-U-Mel onto a piece of tissue paper and as I scrubbed the table, I saw the glue vanished!  Indeed a miracle household helper for health and clean freaks like yours truly!

 Before Sol-U-Mel...

After Sol-U-Mel... a squeaky clean white table again!

You can use Sol-U-Mel full strength to remove:
Gum in hair
Permanent Marker
Road Tar
Tree Sap
Paint and fingernail polish
Grease
Pet stains
Oil Glues
Ink and crayon

You can also use diluted Sol-U-Mel to eliminate unwanted smells:
Deodorize garbage cans
Eliminate moldy odors
Freshen the bathroom
Remove smoke or pet odor from air and furniture

The secret behind Sol-U-Mel’s power is Melaleuca Oil. In fact, full-strength Sol-U-Mel contains 10% Melaleuca Oil (tea tree oil), more than any other cleaning product.

Many common household cleaners can contain ammonia, chlorine bleach, and other known offenders. Sol-U-Mel contains no ammonia, chlorine bleach, and is made from natural biodegradable ingredients. It is a must-have item in a house with kids!

Loving My Melaleuca Products!

I received my second batch of Melaleuca products and am loving them !  Now that I am the maid of the house and am constantly in contact with detergents and cleaners, I do not mind investing in products that do not contain harsh chemicals and are environmentally friendly.  Melaleuca's range of shampoos and body shampoos are free from SLS (sodium laureth sulfate - which can cause cancer) and paraben.

Renew Intensive Skin Therapy is by far the best dry skin relief cream that I have tried.  My cracked heels and extremely dry sole of feet are improving by the day after applying Renew.  I just need to keep my itchy hands off peeling the dry skin though as pricking and peeling will aggravate the problem!

The mouth rinse and tooth polish contain melaleuca oil (tea tree oil) and I bought them with the hubs in mind as he is very prone to getting ulcers in his mouth. Hopefully after using these, those nasty mouth ulcers will be kept at bay.
