Alycia's Hair Tied Up In A Bun

That's Alycia with her hair tied up in a bun. It was my first attempt tying her hair in a bun. It wasn't really difficult but her ballet teacher said I need to put more gel on her hair the next time as her hair has to be reaaaaaally freaking neat without any hair straying on the sides or back! Really frigging strict those examiners!



When she got back from the dance studio, the first thing she did was to remove the hair net and clips. My, her hair was hard and stiff with all those gel on her hair!

Alycia's First Ballet Concert

After 8 months of ballet lessons, Alycia will be participating in her first ballet concert tomorrow. I have to wake my poor baby up at 8am on a Sunday morning and get her all ready and dressed up and she has to reach the ballet studio by 8:30am. The teachers will then put on make-up for the ballerinas and other performers. There will be another round of rehearsal before the actual concert starts at 10am. I really want to watch my baby perform in her maiden concert, her very first time performing in a concert and I am sure she will look really cute in her ballet costume but it's just too troublesome to bring Baby C along. I am very sure other parents will be annoyed when Baby C fusses or cries in the studio. So I'll just have to give it a pass this time and make hubby snap lots of pictures of my baby's first concert!

Alycia, My Ballerina

These pix were taken during last week's ballet class. There was a heavy downpour on that day and the teacher was stuck in a horrendous traffic jam on the highway. Thus, there was no proper class. Instead, a Grade 1 student led the class. Anyway, the class will be replaced.

As you can see, most of the students have long hair, except for Alycia and her little aunty (behind Alycia) who are newbies. The teacher informed us that students should preferably have long hair and fringes as they are required to tie them up into a bun during their exams. While little girls do look more feminine and cuter with long hair, I think it is not quite practical to keep long hair and long fringes as the weather here is just so humid and hot and Alycia sweats a lot. I normally wash her hair twice a day, but with long hair, it's really not practical to have it washed twice a day.

Alycia's First Ballet Class

So Alycia did make it to her first ballet class yesterday despite running a slight fever. I put the gals to nap for 3 hours in the afternoon and when they got up, they were all feeling recharged and Alycia was raring to attend her first ballet class with her 5-year old little aunty. Alycia Is Learning Ballet

We have just returned from a free trial ballet class at the dance center...... and have signed up Alycia for ballet impromptu! I did not intend to let Alycia learn ballet so soon but she loved it. Maybe it was because her little 5-year old aunty, Wei Wei is also there and she has company. I shall upload the pictures that I have taken at the dance center and post it in my blogs tomorrow.
