Wednesday, 5 April 2023

Alycia and Sherilyn took the morning ETS train to Ipoh to visit their grandparents today.

The ETS departure time was at 8.47 a.m. but someone dilly-dallied as usual and only left the house at 8.15 a.m.  All of us had totally forgotten about the girls having to do a Covid self-test until about 7.45 a.m. when I remembered and quickly rushed them to do a nasal swab test, which is faster than a saliva test.

Their dad Grab-ed them to the KL Sentral station like an F1 driver.

As today is a weekday and school day, there was surely bound to be traffic congestion on the roads, especially on the KL-Seremban highway at that peak hour.  After they left the house, I prayed that they wouldn't miss the train, and thank God they managed to hop onto the train in the nick of time 🙏

I was very surprised that papa brought the girls to Texas Fried Chicken for lunch as my parents don't really fancy fast food and deep-fried foods.
But seriously girls, eating fast food when you're in Ipoh, a food haven?
I told the girls that they have to eat famous Ipoh food when they're in Ipoh and not fast food.

Cooking for only Cass is such a breeze vs cooking for the whole jing-bang, coz Cass is satisfied pretty easily, unlike someone.

Cass' lunner - air-fried marinated chicken chop, blanched romaine lettuce, curry veggies (stall-bought) hard-boiled chicken egg, and quail egg with black rice + parboiled rice + 10-grain rice.  Chickens from Beacon Mart are free from antibiotics and hormones and are specially catered for cancer patients.  I love their marinated chicken chops that come in a variety of delicious flavors.

I was on a meat-free diet today and this is what I ate today:

Breakfast - fruits, decaf coffee, walnuts, brazil nuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, organic dark chocolate almond milk with ground flaxseeds, air-fried sourdough bread with cheese, hard-boiled chicken egg, and quail egg.

Lunch - spinach, curry veggies, and Chinese cabbage from the economy rice stall, a few sticks of Biscotti (homemade by the mil), and a piece of 90% Lindt dark chocolate. I also ate half a piece of Rawa Tosei with dhal and half a piece of vadai which Hubs bought from Brickfields after he sent the girls to KL Sentral.

Dinner - skinny sugar-free yogurt with sunflower seeds, blanched romaine lettuce, and a handful of vegetable chips

My breakfast - crispy air-fried sourdough cheese + jalapeno bread with a slice of cheese on top.

Alycia And Sherilyn In Auckland - Day 2 (7 Dec 2014)

Early this morning, A & S went to the Xmas tree plantation with their cousins, grandma, aunts and uncle to choose and chop their Xmas tree to be brought home for decor!  For the first time time of their lives!  When Cass saw the picture via Whatsapp, oh my, she was gasping and green with envy!   Hopefully when we are in Auckland, we will be able to bring the girls to experience fruits picking.

Despite being summer in New Zealand, the weather is cool and breezy - just my perfect kind of weather for outdoor activities!

Alycia And Sherilyn In Auckland - Day 1 (6 December 2014)

A and S are having a time of their lives in Auckland, though they only had 3 hours of shut eye last night this morning.

Their flight was delayed for 1.5 hours and by the time they were out of the airport, it was close to 2am Auckland time.

See you girls in 3 days!! :)

See You In Four Days!

My lucky girls - traveling with grandma again. This time to Auckland.  Five years ago it was to Hong Kong when Alycia was 6 and Drama Queen was 4.  They had a blast in Disneyland.

Five years ago, Cass was in dire need of a surgery and could not join her 2 che ches in Hong Kong.

This time, she won't miss the fun for sure.

See you my babies... in 4 days... in Auckland!

And happy 11th birthday to you, my 'precious baby' Alycia!  I hope MAS will give you a surprise birthday pressie on the plane!  I am sure this birthday will forever be etched in your memory as it is extra extra special and expensive!  How many 11-year olds get to celebrate their birthday tens of thousands of feet in the air eh?

Counting Ang Pow Money

This year, I delegated the task of emptying the ang pow packets collected during CNY and counting the cash to Alycia and Sherilyn. They could not be more excited to be cashiers, handling real cash! Alycia was in charge of emptying the cash from the ang pow packets and counting the cash while Sherilyn was in charge of double checking all the ang pow packets to ensure that no cash was left inside. Both girls did a fairly good job.  Sherilyn found a RM50 note that Alycia had missed out in one of the ang pow packets o_O !!

And half way through the job, it turned rowdy... as usual, sigh....* no eye see to remain sane*  !

In total, the girls received RM2,000 during CNY from friends, relatives and from their daddy and mummy. I topped up the difference and banked in RM1,000 each into their savings account. In 10 years' time, the money in each savings account should be enough for 1 or 2 year's college fees :D

Weekend Midnight Supper

The weekends are here again, super hooray! Business will be slower over the weekends and that's the time I can breathe. I really do need the breather and catch up on my sleep as I feel sleepy all the time lately, a result of being severely sleep deprived.

Weekend also means midnight snacking with daddy for Alycia and Sherilyn. Last Saturday, daddy brought them out to buy supper of fried crabs and fried Hokkien noodles. The 3 of them had a whale of a time chomping down the noodles and sucking on the crab legs and claws till way past midnight. Me? I don't touch food after 9pm and have the will power to say NO, even to the most delicious of morsels put right in front of my eyes and mouth, with salivating aromatic smell permeating my nostrils. Can you resist? tee hee...

On The Eve Of Their Exams

This was taken on the eve of Alycia and Sherilyn's exam. They were playing balloons, went swimming, watched TV and Sherilyn sat for her actual ballet exam and was away at the exam centre the whole morning.

I have been very, very relaxed with them, doing very little revision with them as I was both too bogged down with work and didn't want to put too much stress on them. After all, Alycia is only in Primary 1 and Sherilyn is only 5 years old. I only did a max of 1-2 hours of revision with them on the eve of their exam. Alycia scored pretty good marks with 90 and above for all her papers. But maybe all her classmates scored just as good marks as her, who knows? As for Sherilyn, I admit I have not been doing much revision with her at all ever since I started running an online business. I wouldn't blame her if she scores poor marks. I must, must, must go slow with my business and spend more time with my kids!

Ribena Ice Lolly

Whenever I'm too busy to entertain my 2 older brats, they will self-entertain themselves. They even 'self-service' themselves to the food and drinks in the kitchen and fridge. They made themselves Ribena ice-lolly here...

While Alycia licked the ice-lolly neatly, rascal #2 used a fork and kept pricking on the ice lolly... then poured the melted Ribena from the cup into a bowl... and created a big, big mess....
She tried to clean up the mess and pulled heaps of toilet paper! I can never ever leave her alone to eat or drink anything, aaarrrghh!!!!

Check out the sticky Ribena spilled everywhere. I told her "that's it, no more Ribena ice-lolly for you, EVER" hahahaha!

Here's wishing all my readers and customers of my online store a very blessed, happy, prosperous and smooth sailing 2010! Thanks for visiting my blogs and patronizing my online store.

Playing Happy Family And Donkey Cards With Granny

During my mum's 1-week stay with us last week, she bought 2 pack of kids' cards and taught Alycia and Sherilyn how to play.

Does this Happy Family card game look familiar to you, albeit the packaging is now different?

Granny teaching Alycia and Sherilyn Donkey card game....

Baby did not want to be left out too and kept tugging at granny's lap and wanted to be seated on the lap and watch them play the card game.

Do This Or Else.....

Every single morning, I am bound to have a stressful and blood-boiling time coaxing and hurrying my #2 to finish drinking her cup of milk. She would just be seated on the chair on the dining table or on the couch, staring into space and in a daydreaming mode. Sometimes, she would make me blow my top when she spills all her Milo+milk on the table, on our chair, on our newspapers and everywhere on the floor, aargh! No amount of coercion will make her drink her milk. Most times, I will threaten her with the cane. Let me tell you, I hate to resort to the cane all the time but it looks like that’s the only way to move my #2’s butt. Today, I found a solution haha! I threatened her that if she did not finish her milk by the time I step into the living room (I was inside the kitchen then), she would not be allowed to go swimming or play her tricycle today. Dang, dang, dang… voila, it worked like a charm coz I think it hit her on the right nerve woohoohoohoo! Bingo, bull's eyes! Before I could step inside the living room, she had already gulped down her cup of milk and had hurried to the bathroom to wash up. So I learnt a lesson today. Threaten my #2 to have her favorite activities removed and she’ll obediently toe the line, muahahaha!!

Alycia And Sherilyn Are Learning Swimming

Aly and Sher are finally learning swimming....TODAY! And they are really excited and happy about it. Sher is so excited that she would not even want to take her nap.... and this is ticking mah mah off coz we all know that she will be really crabby by dinner time and wouldn't want to eat her dinner if she skips her nap. She's walking round the house now and has been asking me what time it is now for the umpteenth time. For the past 7 months since we moved here, Aly and Sher could only watch with envy from the 5th floor of our condo whenever the instructor teaches the Japanese kids swimming. Now, they are one of his students. This man gives private swimming lessons to kids at condos and schools. And the good thing is he doesn't charge exorbitantly. He is charging us RM25 per child for half an hour once a week. Today the instructor wants to try Aly and Sher out to see how well or poorly they fare in the water. I better wake Aly up from her nap now and get the gals ready. The instructor is already at the pool teaching the Japanese kids swimming now.

Pictures of her 2 doting cheh chehs! I kid you not. When I was looking at the pix of Alycia and Sherilyn taken at Disneyland HK on my PC this afternoon, Baby C who was having her porridge saw the pix and she burst out in loud giggles and said "cheh cheh" while pointing to the PC!! Those giggles were so sweet and cute, as if someone was tickling her. My sweetiepie never fails to giggle whenever she sees pix of her 2 cheh cheh on the PC. I must try to capture her giggling on video one day!

Having Fun In Ipoh

Alycia and Sherilyn have been having lots of fun in Ipoh. They have been playing, eating and shopping from dawn till dusk and don't even have to take their afternoon bath or afternoon nap. And I am having a breather here with my mum and dad helping me.

Yesterday we went shopping at Tesco. Later Alycia and Sherilyn helped my mum make kaya (coconut milk and egg bread spread). Today we were out the whole morning. We went to the bank and later to Pantai Putri Ipoh Medical Center to collect Baby C's antibiotics. When we came home, the gals helped granny make bread. My mum made a loaf of apple bread for Baby C as she simply loves bread.

Alycia's Birthday Lunch

Yesterday daddy asked Alycia to pick her choice of venue for lunch to celebrate her birthday. Of all the places, this brat chosed a venue which is one of the most expensive and so we all had buffet lunch at Lemon Garden @ Shangri-La Hotel KL. Luckily daddy is a preferred member of the Shangri-La Hotel and we got a 50% discount off the total bill.

Alycia and Sherilyn were high on sugar as they stuffed themselves full with nothing but desserts, lots of them, bright colorful ones too, my goodness! That's why they were so hyper-active after their sugar laden lunch!

Baby C was chewing on a bread stick from the buffet counter here.

As we had our meals, my maid fed Baby C her lunch consisting of Nutrifresh and Heinz teething rusk.
After our lunch, I bought my maid a chicken curry curry puff from the bakery of the hotel. The curry puff cost a whopping RM9 but it was huge.

2 very happy girls after a sugar laden and chocolate laden lunch.

Check out my other blog to see Alycia's Mickey & Friends birthday cake.

High On Sugar and Chocolate The Whole Day

Alycia and Sherilyn had a time of their lives and stuffed themselves full with sweet desserts ranging from ultra sweet white chocolate with bright blue and green food coloring on it, cakes, pastries, marshmallows, dips on chocolate fondue, ice creams, crackers, lollipops and finally a chocolate birthday cake at night with lots of coloring! Yikes! I was too busy with Baby C to stop them from going wild with their sweet indulgence. Moreover, daddy the 'everything ok' guy did not forbid them and kept acceding to their demands at the coffee house of the hotel. Oh boy, I just hope they would not develop a cough or a sore throat tomorrow coz they are just not used to stuffing themselves with such junk food. They did not even have a proper meal today, save for a hard boiled egg and a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. Shall post pictures of them tomorrow.
