Goodies From New Zealand and Ipoh

The MIL is back in KL after staying in Auckland for two months with her third daughter and family. As with all her overseas trips, she brought back loads of goodies from New Zealand for us.

A table full of snacks:

There are some more goodies in the fridge - huge wedges of gourmet cheeses, a big bag of almond, sourdough bread, almond butter, gourmet ham, and much more.

Whittaker's! Our favorite brand of chocolate, after Lindt. Our favorite is Almond Gold.

Two tubs of 1kg 10+ UMF Manuka honey. These will probably cost close to a thousand Ringgit in Malaysia.

Pure Delish - this is my favorite New Zealand brand for healthy snack bars and granola.

Cake Kits for Sherilyn, our house baker. But I doubt she will have the time to bake now. Baking will have to wait until she has her semester break.

Lucas Paw Paw ointment and Manuka honey lip balm

Keto-seeded crackers - these pair really well with the NZ gourmet cheese.

A very pretty white Michael Kors sling bag for Sherilyn.

And these handmade fruit cakes and pandan kaya are from Ipoh. My younger brother went back to Ipoh last week and lugged these back for us. My 80-year-old dad's kaya is the best in the world. He painstakingly stands next to the hot stove for almost an hour to stir the kaya mixture in a pot to churn our smooth kaya that's not too sweet.

The yummy fruit cakes are infused with rum, and have the perfect balance of butter cake mixed with dried fruits, figs, and almond nibs.

Delightful fruit cake with a lovely nutty texture and boozy kick.

Surprise From Stabilo

A few days ago, I received a surprise package.

It was from Stabilo!

Last month (September 2015), someone from Stabilo emailed me and asked if I'd like to receive an exam stationery set for Alycia who would be sitting for her UPSR exam. I of course accepted the offer since it's complimentary.  But the stationery set didn't arrive.  And I was too busy to email the person from Stabilo to ask her what happened to the stationery set.

Fast forward a month later, this person emailed to inform me that the parcel was returned to her by the postman due to some delivery errors.  She told me that the set would be re-sent to me.

A few days ago, I received the box as expected.  What surprised the girls and me was that inside the box was not only one  stationery set but three sets!  The girls were so so happy!

Stabilo rocks!!  Thank you for being so thoughtful!

There is even a sweet little message from the Stabilo Team, wishing my girls all the best in their exam.  Cass immediately placed the box of exam stationery set into her school bag and took out her pencil box. She told me that she wanted to use the new set for her exam this week. It's like a good luck charm for her in her exam.  Yesterday she told me that she got 90/100 for her Chinese test paper! :D

I'd like to say a big thank you to Stabilo for this lovely gift for Alycia, Sherilyn and Cass.   They love it very much!!

Goodies from Singapore

My eldest brother and sil from Singapore were in KL last weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday. They had recently returned from the U.S. and had bought these goodies for us:

Original Polo Ralf Lauren shirts for everyone (not in picture)....

Chocolates, nuts and candies....

These cute cuppies are from Singapore. My sil's friend who had a baby shower party gave these to her...

Who can resist them eh? Even I ate them, minus the colorful icing and decor...

Cute Hello Kitty headbands for the 3 angels....

Even Alycia who has tomboyish taste in fashion liked the headband and she agreed to wear it!!

...and my mum even got an original COACH handbag, which was sold at a song from the COACH factory.

Goodies From Hong Kong

3 days ago, we received a huge box of goodies from my sil all the way from Hong Kong. She had sent over Alycia's birthday pressie, X'mas pressies and some snacks for us.

The box full of goodies....
Sherilyn is admiring the tin of cookies from HK Disneyland.

Alycia quickly tried on her Minnie Mouse dress which koo mar bought from HK Disneyland...

2 huge loafs of Italian Panettone Christmas bread. One is filled with raisins and dried fruits (which tastes very much like a cross between fruit cake and bread) and another loaf is filled with dried fruits and chocolate.

The chocolate Panettone Christmas bread. Yums, really delish, sinful and fattening! But what the heck, I only get to eat them once a year and it's not widely available here in Malaysia. My aunt told me that she had only seen it at Hock Chun's in Ampang and costs between RM40-RM50 a loaf.

My sil also got me some Crabtree & Evelyn hand lotion and shower gel. Thank you very much for all the goodies tai kar cheh. You're the best, as always!

Lots Of Goodies

My mil and sil from Hong Kong arrived last night. My generous sil brought home suit cases filled with pressies and goodies for everyone. As usual, Alycia and Sherilyn received the most gifts - from clothes to Hello Kitty pencil box, a Mickey Mouse clock, organic snacks, Disney cutlery, Disney souvenirs and much more. She also bought lots of mooncakes from HK and also cakes and chocolates from Hokkaido.

The 'lai yau' (milk butter flavor) mooncakes from The HK Peninsular Hotel are one of the tastiest mooncakes in HK and taste really good, though a tad sweet.

Pretty hankies from Hokkaido.

My 3 angels also received lots of pretty clothes from koo mah. Check out my other blog to read on...
