Bye-Bye Porridge

For the past one week or so, it's been a torture for Baby each time she's fed with porridge. Though there's a little Bragg's Amino Acid (a sauce that's similar to soy sauce) added to her porridge, she's still not very much interested in her porridge. She has also lost interest in hard boiled eggs or fried eggs, something which she used to like. Several days ago, my mil made some tomato omelette and I gave some to Baby. Gee, she loved it and my oh my was I glad!! I am always glad when Baby loves her food coz I am still a tad obsessed with her weight. The following day, I cooked tomato omelette for her again and she ate it with much enthusiasm too. Yesterday and today, I made her scrambled eggs (with fresh milk and butter) and she loves it too. Yesterday, she even ate the fried vermicelli that my mil cooked.... which I'd rinsed with some hot water to get rid of the excess oil, soy sauce and black sauce. I think I can say bye bye to cooking porridge for Baby and start her on adult food.

The tomato omelette that Baby loves.

On another note, I had some visitors to my home today. Stay tuned to find out who came!

Baby C's Dinner

I feel as if I'm in a race to plump up my sweetie-pie before the surgery next week. Our surgeon said that at 8+kg, it is a tad under-weight for her age. The surgery will have a higher success rate if she's a little heavier. Nonetheless, he told us that he had once operated on a baby who weighed 8kg.

To plump my baby up, I am feeding her with extra protein. I try to feed her at least an egg a day, along with fish, Pediasure (albeit I'm only able to force feed her 2-3 scoops a day), soy bean milk and E.Excel's Nutrifresh (which has soy bean protein).

This was Baby C's dinner 2 days ago, consisting of steam egg, steam fish with organic Japanese pumpkin, Nestle chicken cereal and chicken soup. That will be my last time trying to feed my sweetie-pie cereal coz she absolutely hates cereals. After painstakingly feeding her all the above for over an hour, she puked everything out when I gave her the last spoonful of cereal! That's the last straw.... I will forget about cereals and jar food for Baby C, period! Long sigh.....

Organix Organic Biscuits For Toddlers

That's one of my sweetiepie's favorite biscuits :

My mil bought a few boxes from Hong Kong recently coz Sherilyn had been bugging her for animal biscuits. Even I like these biscuits as they are sugar-free, made of whole grains and taste good too. This brand of biscuits can be bought from the pharmacy at Jaya Jusco @ Mid Valley Megamall and certain organic shops.

My sweetiepie likes them so much that she would always thrust the whole biscuit into her mouth. She has to be watched really closely when we give her biscuits coz she can go wild and really greedy when she has her favorite food in her hands.

Pureen Baby Biscuits

I got my sweetiepie a box of Pureen baby biscuits from Jaya Jusco the other day. I was a tad skeptical she would like it as my baby is quite selective when it comes to food, particularly anything that is sweet. Thank goodness my sweetiepie loves the baby biscuits. In fact, even my 2 older girls and I like them as they are really crunchy and taste good too.

The Pureen baby biscuits are made in Italy and are enriched with DHA. It cost around RM14+ a box.

I have the most success with biscuits to keep my sweetiepie still on her highchair during mealtimes, though the aftermath is really messssy!

Keeping Baby C Still During Meal Times And Meds Time

The only way I can keep Baby C still (though not 100% still, well, at least she won't squirm about) during meal times and meds time is to put her in front of the TV. And the only TV program that she really likes and can never get bored with is 'Your Baby Can Read', the educational VCD series by Prof Dr Titzer. It must be Aleka, the Prof's daughter whom she loves to see coz whenever she sees Aleka at the start of the show, she will smile. Aleka has a slight resemblance of her Alycia cheh cheh and she thinks Aleka is her cheh cheh. She also loves to see the kids in the show.

This is Baby C's dinner - steamed 'ma yau toong' fish, mashed up and 'wai san' soup with wolfberries, red dates and pork ribs. I have stopped feeding her with cereal as she keeps coughing whenever she eats cereal. I think the milk in the cereal or the ground rice in the cereal must have irritated her throat as she has a slight cough with phlegm.

Right in front of the TV, with me feeding her dinner. About an hour after dinner, we will be seated right in front of the TV again and the daily battle begins..... as it's antibiotics feeding session :(

Rusks And Baby Carrots For Baby C

The other day, I bought some baby carrots and Heinz teething rusks for Baby C to chew on. She loved them both but got pretty frustrated when she couldn't bite on the baby carrots. Though the Heinz teething rusks are almost tasteless, she still loved them. I used to buy them for Alycia and Sherilyn too when they were babies. They were really useful whenever I needed to eat my meals. All I needed to do was to give them a rusk to chew on and they would sit still for at least half an hour chewing on it, while I hurriedly gobble down my food.

Baby C And Her First Taste Of Fish

Baby C had her first taste of fish today. My mil had steamed a fish (ma yau toong) for lunch. I did not deliberately intend to feed her fish today as I was busy rushing to eat my lunch. I had an appointment with my gynae at 2:30pm today. Before having my lunch, I had fed Baby C some organic brown rice and organic banana rice cereal. Baby C was fussing away, so I put her on my lap as I ate my lunch. When she kept staring at my food, I decided to let her try a small pinch of fish and to my surprise, she liked it and gave me and my mil her sweetest smile. I then brought out a small bowl and gave her more fish. She ate and ate without fussing until she fell asleep! Poor baby, she's been jolted up from her nap twice today - once by the darn contractor and another time by her 2 cheh chehs.
