PotboyMart Ice Cream Day

The eleventh day of every month is PotBoyMart Ice Cream Day! All ice cream products at all PotBoy Mart outlets are on sale with a 50% discount ALL DAY LONG!  This is delicious sweet news for ice cream fans, like our girls.

Last month (11th March) I went to PotBoyMart in the hope of grabbing some Cornetto, Magnum, and other favorites. However, when I was there at around 6pm, what was left was only Kit Kat ice cream, which ain't our favorite and it's more expensive than other flavors.  I grabbed a few sticks anyway since they were on a 50% discount. Kiasu me!

Cass has since been reminding me of the Ice Cream Day and a few days before 11th April, she reminded me every day 😁.  She's a huge fan of ice cream and her favorite dessert.  She even planned to make a super quick trip to the mart with me at 9.30 a.m. on Monday, 11th April after her first class as she had a 40-minute break before the second online class.

This time we were early. When we reached the mart, the Nestle delivery staff were there loading boxes of ice creams. Cass and I were super excited and couldn't wait to charge at the ice cream chillers!

We scooped 30 sticks of Nestle Cornetto (20 chocolate + 10 vanilla), 3 sticks of La Cremeria Absolutely Almond stick, 1 Kit Kat and 1 tub of La Cremeria almond pecan passion.  Total damage was RM53.50.

Next month, I will grab 20 sticks of La Cremeria Absolutely Almond stick - it tastes very much like Magnum Almond and is cheaper than Magnum.

After paying for the ice-creams, I felt I had over-splurged on ice creams. In my excitement looking at the freshly replenished ice cream chillers, I got carried away and over-spent 🤭

Freshly restocked - all at half price. Too good an offer to turn down.

A big bag of happiness for the girls.

My ice cream craze days are now behind me. I used to be hooked on ice creams but somehow as I age, I no longer crave sweet desserts that much anymore.

RMCO Day 3 ~ Friday, 12 June 2020

I learned to admire the colors of sunrise and sunset during my camping days when I was a teenager.  During the best times of my life spent camping in Pangkor Island and Pulau Kapas in Terengganu, my besties and I slept on a towel on the beach and we were often awoken by the freezing cold wind or the waves beating on our feet.  The first thing that would greet us was the awesome view of sunrise spread right in front of us happy campers, like a 3D picture on a TV with an infinity screen.  And then these excited crazy teens would scamper to our backpack inside the tent to fish out our bulky cameras for some camwhoring before going to the stream to freshen up  in the super cold crystal clear water.  Then we would gather in a group to find the perfect spot to do our business in the jungle! 😬  Next, we would wait under a big shady tree where Mr Lee, our camping guide who is a teacher, would have already cooked breakfast of hot yummy porridge for us.  How I miss those days terribly 💓💓

Since the start of the MCO 3 months ago, I've had the opportunity to witness the different stages of sunrise from our balcony on the 5th floor.  Today's sunrise was exceptionally beautiful!!☀️

Lunch is Nasi Kerabu from hubby's shop again. Nasi Kerabu is the girls and my favorite and it's quite unbelievable that after more than a month of eating it every Friday, we still haven't gotten bored of it yet!  The chicken is non-spicy and the spiced curry fish is mildly spicy.

Today I bought some ice-creams for the girls as the afternoons have been extremely hot and humid lately.  We saw Tealive Boba-licious at 99 Speedmart and I bought one to try.  It tastes nothing close to Tealive milk tea and is quite a disappointment.  But I can't set too high an expectation on a RM2.20 ice-cream, kan? No more 2nd time for us. 😁

Sherilyn's Too Spoilt!

We were at Bangsar Village for lunch 2 Thursdays ago. After lunch, daddy brought the gals to New Zealand Ice Cream and bought them each an ice cream on a cone. Alycia chosed vanilla and Sherilyn chosed raspberry. Thereafter we went to shop for groceries at the supermarket and the gals were still licking their ice creams. When we were at the check out counter, Sherilyn dropped her ice cream cone on the floor. Goodness, her reflex action was at the speed of lightning. The moment the cone and ice cream landed on the floor, she burst out waaaaailing out loud as she covered her cheek with her right palm - exactly like a drama queen crying, complete with pathetic actions. She was truly very upset that her favorite ice cream was no longer in her hand. For once, I felt so sorry for her and I just knew that the only way to subdue her is to get her another ice cream. After I had cleaned up the mess on the floor, daddy brought her upstairs to get her another ice cream on the cone - a strawberry flavored ice cream this time. I told daddy that he has really spoilt the girls rotten. If it was a McD ice cream, I wouldn't have felt the pinch but a scoop of that ice cream cost more than RM5 .... and Daddy and the girls had a total of 4 scoops in a day!

Sherilyn all smiles again with a brand new ice cream on a cone.

Too Much of New Zealand Ice-Cream

After our lunch at Marco's Pizzas at Bangsar Village yesterday, hubby proceeded to New Zealand Ice-Cream. He loves to pamper the girls with ice-creams coz he himself is crazy over ice-cream. As for me, I don't fancy sweet stuff. I used to love ice-cream but lately, the sight of sweet stuff, esp cakes and ice-cream makes me feel jelat. Anyway, I still ordered a cup of passion fruit sorbet ice-cream and shared it with Sherilyn. Alycia had a scoop of macademia nut on a cone and hubby had rum & raisin in a cup. It was only when hubby paid for the ice-cream and got a 30% rebate on our ice-creams that we found out that yesterday being the 30th of the month, all ice-creams, whether eat-in or take-away were entitled to a 30% discount. So hubby bought a pint of macademia and cream ice-cream to take-away and for all the ice-creams that we had eaten and taken away, hubby paid less than RM30. That cost less than the 5 scoops of ice-cream that we had eaten last Thursday when we were at Bangsar Village. So if you're a fan of ice-cream too, do check out New Zealand ice-cream - their ice-creams are all imported from New Zealand, made of natural ingredients and taste delicious. Try to buy them on the 30th of each month, you'll save a lot.
Of yes, Alycia ate so much ice-creams (for 2 days) that she now has a slight runny nose :(
