Baby is a very constipated 3yo toddler. When she was a baby, she was very prone to getting diarrhea, no thanks to the E.Coli and Klebsiela bacteria that used to attack her every month, causing her UTI. But thank God, that's a thing of the past and now, I have to counter constipation. And I counter it by giving her lots of green veggie and fruits everyday. No matter what we have for lunch or dinner, I will chop up lots of green leafy veggie and add them into her food.
Baby and her bowl of spiral pasta with beef bolognaise sauce and lots of chopped up mustard green. When greens are added into her favorite food like pasta, spaghetti and pizza, she will have no prob chopping them down!
And this is my lunch - a bowl of beef bolognaise sauce, with lots of veggie to substitute the carbs. I try to avoid eating starchy noodles and substitute them with wholemeal bread or wholemeal crackers and lots of veggie.

Stinky Poop Everywhere!
Baby has been having constipation issue for the past 1 year, ever since she started to eat more solids, especially meat. From a veggie lover when she was a baby, she has now regressed and hates her greens. I have to give her Duphalac Lactulose everyday to help her to move her bowels. At times, even with Duphalac her stubborn bowles just won't budge a wee bit. That's when I have to give her full strength of Duphalac. With full strength Duphalac plus red dragon fruit (which is really good in moving her bowels), she would sometimes have watery poop. And this was just what happened the other day. This fler pooped in her diaper and then ran round the house, with the trails of watery stinky poop all over the house floor and bedroom floor. Eewwwww, I tell yer, that was horrid and gross! Rascal #2 who can never sit still was jumping round the house and stepping on the poop! My helper and I had to clean up the absolute mess and finished off with Disinfectant!

Babies Poop The Weirdest Ways
I started to train Baby to poop inside the potty when she was about 15 months. For many months, she was able to poo poo inside the potty at around the same time every morning without much fuss and problem. Recently, she has become very constipated and would only poo poo once every 2 days (which is not good coz constipation may lead to UTI). Not only is she constipated, she is also resisting to poo poo in the potty. Each time she shows signs of wanting to poo (by straining), we would rush to bring out the potty but I guess the poop sort of went back in (LOL!!) each time she sees the potty. She would also say "no, no, do wan" when we bring the potty out.
Instead, she prefers to poo poo in her diaper and she has a really weird way of straining the poop out too... as shown in pic below. I guess the hard poop is hurting her and she has to find a comfortable way of pushing the poop out LOL!!

Baby C Is Super Cranky
Baby C is super cranky today and that's because she has not been able to poo poo for the second day today. Since a newborn, she's never had problem with constipation and I am really worried for her. If she still can't poo poo by tomorrow, I'll bring her to the pediatrician. Hopefully this will not aggravate her kidney reflux.
Worried....
I am really worried coz Baby C can't poo poo for 2 days. I've been massaging her tummy continuously today and making "hmmmm hmmmm" sounds to stimulate her senses to poo poo but nothing seemed to work. Now I am beginning to suspect if her constipation is caused by the double dosage of Millennium Cactus juice that I've been feeding her over the past 2 days. She also has a rash breakout on her cheeks.

A Very Constipated Sherilyn
Poor Sherilyn suffered from constipation today. This afternoon, she sat on her potty for half an hour and was wailing away while hugging me tightly in pain. Since infant, Sher has been very prone to constipation and she used to be able to poo poo only once in a week when she was a newborn baby. She finally managed to push her poop out after half an hour in agony, with cold sweat all over her body and goo all over her face. There was also blood when I wiped her. I better feed her with some prune juice and red dragon fruit later and boil some barley water for her tomorrow.

A Very Constipated Sherilyn
Since birth, Sherilyn has been a very constipated baby. When she was a newborn baby, she would only poo poo once in every 3 - 8 days and when she did her poopie business, it would last between 15 - 30 minutes! Last year, I found out that her constipation was due to the Choline in the formula milk that she drinks (Enfagrow A+). Now she's on Dutch Lady 123 (day time) and Enfagrow A+ with fibre (night time). For a long time, the constipation was kept at bay until recently. She has been suffering from constipation for the last 2 weeks. This could be due to the fact that she's not eating enough and thus, does not have enough bulk to form the stools. Her eating habits have become from bad to worse lately. Whenever we eat rice with dishes, she would pout her lips and give me a 'foo kwa meen' (a face as bitter looking as bitter gourd). My maid and I have to take turns to coax, bribe and threaten her to eat... for almost 1.5-2 hours every meal. When it comes to bread, cookies, crackers, cakes and fish balls, her face would light up and she will have no problems chomping down her food.... bribe-free, cane-free and threat-free. But I can't be feeding her with these everyday, twice a day, can I?
Today is the 3rd day she has not been doing her poopie business. This morning, I made her sit on her throne for almost 2 hours yet it was a fruitless effort. After her nap this afternoon, I made her sit on the toilet for almost 1 hour and voila, the poop finally made its appearance, albeit with much pain and blood. She drinks a lot of water and milk but without sufficient solid food, there is no bulk and thus, suffers from constipation. Do you have a child who's like Sherilyn too?
