My Streamyx Is Finally Up Again....

.... after 11 long and agonizing days! That's how inefficient our TM Net is, as expected and this is not the first time I suffer as a result of their inefficiency. The last time hubby changed owner in our fixed phone line, my streamyx connection was down for 8 days... and that also I had to call them once every 2-3 hours, every day for 8 days to breathe down their lazy necks. Had it not been me being a pain in their lazy necks, I think they will take forever to get the Streamyx up again.

Anyway, the feeling I had when I got back my Streamyx was one of ecstatic and relief. It felt as if I hadn't eaten for 11 days and could finally eat. It just felt great to be able to refresh my screen, save a document, upload pix, etc. without getting an error message or having to wait for 15 minutes or more to get to a website. However, I could hardly find the time to blog during the day as I still have some unpacking to do. Baby C is also still purging and I have to wash her bum like 10 times a day.... after each poopie business and after she had wet her diapers coz her diaper area is so sore and it's best that I wash it clean to prevent the area from getting sore further and to prevent nappy rash. The only time I can blog is at night, when my 3 monkeys are all fast asleep. Ahh.... what bliss to be able to blog in peace!

Stroller Mishap

That's how Baby C and I looked after the stroller accident yesterday.

Baby C smiling after she woke up from her nap, after the fall. This smile gave me a consolation that she's A-ok.

What's It With The Tissue Box.... And The Tissue Papers?

My 2 older gals loved playing and chewing on tissue box and tissue papers when they were babies and now, it's Baby C's turn. New colorful toys they like not but dull looking tissue boxes and packet tissues fascinate them to bits. Why eh I wonder?

BTW, Baby C and I were spared from serious injuries during an accident today. Nevertheless, we were still hurt. Check out my other blog to find out what happened.

Baby C Turned 7 Months Old

Baby C turned 7 months old on 9 November 2008. She started to cruise 1.5 weeks ago and now likes to grab everything not meant for her.... and then put them into her mouth.

In this picture, she was trying to fish out a diaper from the shopping bag that I hung on her crib. I can no longer hang anything on her crib now for this ever curious baby will surely grab them and put them into her mouth.

Daddy's Written Agreement To Bring His Princesses Swimming... Part I

That was taken on the day we moved into our new condo. Our unit faces the swimming pool and the gals' room has a very good view of the pool... and the gals absolutely adore their room. They think it's a hotel and they spend almost the whole day in their room and at the kitchen looking down at the pool. They have been bugging daddy to bring them swimming but it's just not possible as we were all (and still are) extremely busy with the move and unpacking.

When daddy was unpacking the gals' clothes and arranging them into their new closet, Sherilyn quickly fished out one of her old bikinis and insisted to put her bra (that's what she calls it lol!) on.... then ran round the house pretending to snap pictures!

Last night, daddy finally promised to bring Alycia and Sher swimming today. He even signed on an agreement hand-written by Alycia that he will bring her swimming today. As I am typing this, daddy has now brought them swimming. Shall post picture of the agreement soon!

Still Moving, Unpacking And Arranging....

Here are some pix on our house shifting taken at our old home. There is still about 30% of our things that are still at the old home, to be moved to the new home. As of now, my closet is already 80% full and I have no idea how I am going to stuff my remaining clothes and paraphernalia into it. I guess I will no choice but to give away many of my clothes to friends... albeit with a heavy heart... sob sob sob...

I Am Back

After spending 2 agitating hours in front of my PC trying to connect to my blogs and to certain websites, I finally managed to get some work done. I just hate this 3G wireless internet. Connection is farking unstable and my pages get all distorted. I have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting the line. I can't wait for my Streamyx to be up again.

Anyway, it's way past 12 midnight now. I have a lot to update in my blogs but I better sleep early coz tomorrow is another long day... of unpacking, packing and carrying my little whiny and fussy baby. There have been many people in and out of our new condo lately and she hates strangers. Each time Baby C sees strangers in our condo, she will bawl unless she's being carried by me and no one else! So can you imagine how tough my days have been, having to carry her and she has not been napping a lot too coz her 2 boisterous older sisters have been laughing, screaming and getting all excited over the new condo and their new pretty bedroom.... and they kept jolting her up from her nap... which drives me really bonkers.

BTW, there are supposed to be pix with this post but after waiting more than 15 minutes for the 2 pix to be uploaded and after I had clicked on 'Done', the pix didn't appear in this post! I am giving up and going to bed now.

The Nutritious Fig

Did you know that figs can be part of almost any special diet, be it low fat, low sodium, high fiber, weight loss, diabetic or even the Mediterranean? Figs are fat-free, sodium-free and they are cholesterol-free too. Figs are high in fiber (good to combat constipation!) and have more dietary fiber per serving than any other common dried or fresh fruit. Figs also have very high mineral content. If only I had enough place in my house and if only the climate in our country permits, I would want to plant a couple of Fig trees and enjoy the fruits!

Insurance Plan For Your Baby

Hubby and I are considered lucky that the insurers accepted our application for medical insurance for Baby C several months ago, though she was hospitalized once for urinary tract infection when she was two months old. When she fell and knocked her head on the floor recently, I called up my insurance agent to enquire if CT scan is claimable from the insurance and to my delight, I was told that it is claimable. Thank God Baby C was ok after the fall and did not require a CT scan after all, though she did vomit once. If you have a baby, it’s really a good idea to purchase a medical and education insurance plan for him/her. If you haven’t gotten one yet, you may want to get some insurance quotes as soon as possible. You will surely not regret it.

Blog Break...

Hubby gave me a shock when he told me a moment ago that TM will cancel my Streamyx connection today to facilitate the transfer of line to our new condo. He told me yesterday that he will only do the transfer later this week but now it's today! Luckily I don't have any outstanding offers to dish out for advertisers. Haiz..... I will definitely have withdrawal syndromes without the computer!

I don't know how long it will take for the Streamyx to be up again at my new place. I hope it's not going to be more than a week like what happened recently.... knowing how inefficient TM is.

BTW, my mil learnt how to make these dainty yummylicious ang koo the other day. Check out my health blog to read on.

Oh yes, please DO MISS my blog k? *wink*

My Little Vain Pot

That's Sherilyn my little vain pot wearing Baby C's hairbands. Last night, she fished out the hairbands from the hair accessories box and began putting them on... one by one... then ran to the mirror and did some model poses and talked to herself! She's getting vainer and vainer by the day... chan hai oi leng (really wants to be pretty)!

Baby C's hairband (meant for babies and not toddlers) was obviously too small for Sher's head.

Treating Baby C Like A Doll

Sometimes Alycia and Sherilyn would treat Baby C like a doll. They would hug her tightly, kiss Baby C's face till it's all sloppy with their saliva... yucks!... doll her up and they (especially Alycia) would always insist on carrying Baby C. The other day whilst playing, Alycia insisted on putting her hat on Baby C. I stopped her as the hat was obviously too big for baby's head and was covering her face and eyes. I told Alycia that baby will not be able to see with her eyes covered by the hat and will hit her head on the cold hard floor but she still insisted on putting the hat on baby for she wanted to have a good laugh!

Whilst the 2 cheh chehs had a good laugh at Baby C wearing the enormous hat, Baby C didn't quite like the idea of being monkeyed around and fussed, almost on the verge of crying....

Baby C on the verge of crying here...

BTW, notice Sherilyn wearing the colorful bangles on her hand? Daddy bought them at the Baby Loft shop 2 weeks ago and both the gals (esp Sherilyn) have been wearing them everyday... the whole day - to school, to sleep, to eat! See how vain they are!

Baby C had her first major fall yesterday. Read about it in my health blog.

Bento Tools

A new 100 Yen shop has just opened near where I stay. So I popped by the shop the other day and got these :

a double-decker lunch box

a pack of 3 little dainty lunch box, to be placed in larger lunch boxes. I prefer these to silicon cups or bento cups as they come with a cover, thus the food will not spill. Everything costs just RM4.90 and there were heaps of nice lunch boxes and pretty chopsticks! However, there aren't other bento stuff that I am looking for like silicon cups, lunch box straps, food picks, baran, sausage weiner, etc.

And these are from my sil. She bought these for me from Singapore - a silicon fried egg/pancake mould in the shape of a bird, cookie cutters and a star-shaped and heart-shaped egg mould.

Stewed Chicken With Sweet Chestnuts And Mushrooms

My mil made stewed chicken with sweet chestnuts and mushrooms yesterday. We had this dish for 2 days straight - yesterday and today but I haven't gotten fed up with it just yet. I just love this dish. Do you know that chestnuts are not only tasty but also nutritious? Check out my health blog to read on.

I Can See Yer Cheh Cheh

This picture of Baby C peeping through the gap of her crib to watch her 2 cheh chehs play was taken about 2 weeks ago. Now, she doesn't need to peep through the holes anymore as she can stand pretty sturdily by holding on to the crib railings. Baby C will turn 7 months old in 9 days' time.

Alycia's English And BM Test Today

When Alycia came back from school today :

Me : Alycia how was your English and BM test today?

Alycia : Good....

Me : Really? Did you know how to answer those questions?

Alycia : Yes....

Me : Really? (I was in disbelief and doubted what she said. What a bad mummy I am not to trust my own daughter eh?)

Alycia : Yes.

Me : Did whatever that I revised with you come out in the test?

Aycia : No. Only got circle and underline the answer and writing.

Me : Oh....

Alycia : But I missed you and love you when I was in school.....

Me : I missed you too.

I am just curious to know how Alycia fared in all her subjects. I didn't want to be seen as if I am so eager that she passes her test with flying colors as that would only put pressure on her..... but I still hope she'd fare well. Nonetheless, even if she didn't fare well or fail the test, I will not chastise her. This will only cause her to have a phobia and hatred towards school and exams.

My 2 Little Babysitters

Whenever I need to go to the loo or get some meals prepared in the kitchen, I will dump Baby C in the playpen, aka. her cage and enlist the help of Aly or Sher (mostly Alycia, my trusted helper) to entertain Baby C. Baby C loves being in the company of her 2 cheh chehs and the sight of her cheh chehs can really put a smile on her face or make her giggle heartily. Baby C who has supersonic sharp ears will even spring up and search for her sisters even when she's in the room with me alone.... nursing and she hears her 2 cheh chehs' laughter or chatter downstairs or in the garden! And this will of course distract her from drinking her milkie or from taking her nap.

It was Alycia's idea that she does coloring on the floor so that Baby C can see her and she can sing or talk to her baby sister simultaneously.

What Really Amuses and Fascinates Babies

After having 3 kids, I know that I don't have to spend a fortune buying expensive toys to amuse them coz they will most likely get bored of the toys within just hours. What can really amuse them and keep their interest up all the time are actually things that we adults use - handphones, remote controls, cups and anything just not meant for them. And things that come free like the sunlight can amuse them too... and that's what keeps Baby C really amused and fascinated whenever she sees the morning sunlight shining down from the airwell of our house to her playpen each morning. She can spend at least half an hour trying to catch the elusive sunlight or shadow whilst I have my breakfast and cuppa green tea in the morning. Cool eh?

Homecooked Dishes

That's what we had for dinner several nights ago. Though these are all simple dishes, they are all my favorite. I just love my mil's cooking. Whenever she's around, I will surely gain weight and will find it really hard to shed the extra pounds!

Stewed pork ribs, stir-fried spinach with garlic, steamed minced meat with dried wood fungus and water chestnuts and organic bitter gourd omelette.

Stewed pork ribs with lots of shallots (small red onions), tomatoes and 'sar keong' (a type of root like ginger with fragrant green leaves).

Steamed minced pork with water chestnuts and 'moke yue' (dried wood fungus).
