Earning Passive Income

Our Sunday, the hubs finally had the time to chauffeur me all the way to the Shah Alam golf course where my friend stays to collect my free package of Izumio and Super Lutein.

I met my sales target  and won myself an all-expenses paid trip to Japan to visit the Super Lutein factory with free pocket money (total package worth RM8k +) in September 2015 but I could not go as school was not out yet then.  In exchange for the trip, I got myself a full package of 12 boxes of Izumio and 3 bottles of Super Lutein worth RM5,330!!    On top of this free package, I am also now earning a 4-figure monthly income from Naturally Plus. Though this amount is just a drop in the ocean as compared to what my upline is earning, I am confident that if I continue to 'work' hard, I will be able to earn half as much as what she's earning now.

Do you wanna know how much my direct upline earns?

For the last 2 months, she earned over RM30,000 a month!  Yes, a 5-figure pay credited directly into her bank account!

See, Naturally Plus rocks!   And I have awesome pawsome bosses and upline too. They groom me, nudge me gently to move my arse (haha, but to me this does not really feel like work but a  passion), guide me and we have a wonderful supportive team.

So if anyone of you wants to earn passive income whilst getting yourself  good health at the same time, the Naturally Plus business is the perfect business model for you.  It's a beautiful package of good quality products, good reward system and good support all rolled into one.

Our Sunday - 15 November 2015

Last Sunday, my elder brother, SIL and niece from Singapore were in KL again.

Here are some pix taken at Alexis Bistro @ Gardens Mall.

Cass with Raelyn, her bff.  Cass hits it off really well with Raelyn and vice versa. When these 2 girls get together, they are really really rambunctious and they make head turns with their loud guffaw.

The four cousins together...

Really really sinful morsels, which made me swim really really hard (22-24 laps) since Monday to blast away the fat!

My absolute favorites are the orange almond meal cake (at foreground) and tiramisu.  They're the best in the world!

After a heavy lunch and tea time, I sent Alycia and Sherilyn to play at their friend's house.

The girls, especially Cass miss their cousin very much and hope to have another reunion and this time in Ipoh during Christmas, hopefully.

Pizza Bread With Portobello Mushrooms and Rosemary

After a very heavy and meaty lunch of chicken and char siew rice, I wanted something meat-free for dinner. The girls were not keen to eat meat too.  As I have a lot of wholemeal bread left in the fridge, I made pizza bread for the girls for dinner today.  There was also a blanched siew pak choy veggie but no picture was taken.

Ingredients that I used:
1) 1 big punnet of fresh Portobello mushrooms
2) 1 ripened organic tomato
3) Lots of chopped garlic and onions
4) A handful of fresh rosemary
5) 3 tablespoon of bolognese sauce. I don't normally use bottled pasta sauce but I have been really busy today and did not have ample time to blend the tomatoes.

My yummy pot of Portobello mushrooms with aromatic rosemary.

In to the oven for 15 minutes at 170 degree Celsius....

The girls enjoyed their healthy crispy pizza bread. I asked them if they'd have preferred minced beef for the pizza topping but they voted meat out!

Spaghetti Bolognese Made From Scratch

A few days ago, I made spiral spaghetti with beef bolognese sauce.  This is one dish that the kids will never get bored of eating.  But I find prepping this dish pretty time consuming as I do not use bottled pasta sauce. It can be made very easily and quickly with just a bottle of pasta sauce but I try not to buy bottled sauces.  I make my sauce from scratch and it involves a lot of work from peeling, chopping, blending and cooking the sauce.

My sauce is made from blending 5 plump ripened organic tomatoes, carrots, celery and onions together in my Blendtec blender.  And adding such dried herbs as thyme, Italian herbs and fresh dill.

I also added portobello and shiitake mushrooms for added nutrients and fiber.  Oil used is avocado oil. Beef used is antibiotic-free Australian minced beef.

And lots of chopped Bombay onions for the flavor.

And this is mine - organic broccoli bolognese sans the high-carb noodles :D It is SO SO delish!

Lunch and Dinner - 11 November 2015

Lunch and dinner yesterday had to be churned out really quickly as I had to be in the hospital again. This time, to get Cass' doctor to fill out the insurance claim form again -- for the 3rd time! And I could see that he was a tad pissed off :(   I am thinking positively now, praying fervently and hoping to attract positive vibes so that this time round, the claim of RM5,000 will be approved! Pray for me, will ya, pretty please? :)

For lunch, I made a healthy quick egg mayo toasted sandwich.

Ingredients for egg mayo (for 3 servings):
1) 4 eggs, hard-boiled and mashed
2) Ground pepper
3) Soy Sauce
4) Julienned raw carrots
5) Julienned cucumbers
6) A few squeezes of Japanese mayo
7) Raw onions (optional)
8) Chopped cabbage (optional)

For dinner, I had wanted to takeout but the chef at our usual eatery hadn't arrived yet. Hubs asked us to eat at the Japanese restaurant at our condo but hello, that would cost us a  minimum of RM80- RM90 and the food won't be sustaining enough for 3 growing girls and a mummy on diet.

So what the heck!  I made a quick dash to the kitchen and prepared our favorite local delight - pork noodles with spinach for the girls and pork noodles with bitter gourd and spinach for moi.

This bowl of vermicelli with bitter gourd, organic spinach, carrots, black fungus strips, garlic oil is for me.

And this bowl of curly carrot wheat noodles with an egg, organic spinach, carrots, black fungus strips, garlic oil is for the girls.

Soup base for pork noodles:
1) Saute anchovies with oil, chopped garlic and onions
2) Add water
3) Throw in veggies of your choice (for added sweetness). I used 2 carrots and 2 organic tomatoes.
4) Simmer for an hour
5) Pinch of salt

It would taste better had I added some pork bones but I didn't plan to cook this yesterday, thus I didn't prepare any pork bones.

What a fulfilling and enjoyable dinner that was and definitely worth the 1 hour of slogging in the kitchen :)

Izumio And Super Lutein - Testimonials From Diabetics Patients

If you or your close ones have diabetes and would like to try  a natural approach to bring down the glucose level, there is nothing to lose by giving Izumio hydrogen water and Super Lutein a try.

I'd like to share with you testimonials from a few consumers in our team:

Testimonial #1
25 August 2015
My father in law has been faithfully taking 6sl and 1iw a day for a good 2 months. His sugar level has been high between 6.5 to 8 after fasting. He checked his sugar level every morning the last 2 months, but not much of improvement seen, reading fluctuated and still at the above 6.5 level! I told him not to give up and continue the iw and sl, He is getting there soon. And this morning, pop, the reading shows 5.2! A happy man he is now.. Haha! He doesn't change much of his diet, neither is he on any diabetes medication!

Testimonial #2
24 August 2015
With regards to my post in 29 April this year, I am very excited and glad to share that my hubby's diabetes screen show significant drop in the glucose level.. From 15 - 7.7!!! And, and, and...... The total cholesterol from 5.4 to 4.3 (normal range should be lesser than 5.2)!!! Due to the control of the above diabetes and cholesterol, the triglycerides (三酸甘油脂) drop from 17.9 MMOL/L to 3.3 MMOL/L!!! Te doctor is very surprise with the results, coz he previously thought that my hub's glucose level should only drop to 9 optimistically.. Btw, my hub is taking 6 sl + 1iw per day.. Woo hoo!!! Honestly we are very very much relief now.. Thanks to *** who introduced the product to me.. Banyak terima kasih~~~

Testimonial #3
7 October 2015
From a friend and neighbour.... Her mum was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago and her reading hovered around 15.3 even while on Janumet. She started on 3 SL n 1 Izumio 2 times a day 3 months ago. I received the below from her last night. Note there has been no change in the meds and dosage. We will expect her to reduce her meds significantly in the next follow up.

Fruit Smoothies

Fruit smoothies that I made over the past 2 days...

Orange + green apple + persimmon + USA black grapes.

Korean Shingo pear + strawberry + orange + coconut water.

Smoothies are sweet, refreshing and are a perfect thirst quencher. But if you are diabetic, go slow on fruits smoothies, especially on fruit juices (as juices are sans the fiber) as they spike up your blood sugar level quickly.  The fruit smoothies that I prepare are only for the kiddos. The hubs and I don't drink them often, I only eat my fruits.  Our girls love their daily smoothie-of-the-day. They are lazy to chew their fruits (yes, can you believe it?!), so swallowing a variety of fruits everyday in the form of smoothie ensures that they get their daily dose of vitamin C and fiber.

Our Weekend (7-8 November 2015)

My brother, SIL and niece from Singapore were in KL over the weekend.

The girls had a great time bonding with Raelyn, their cousin.  Check out the pix!

The girls had soft-serve ice-cream after dinner on Saturday...

Play time...

Tucking into some sinful desserts after lunch on Sunday...

The desserts of waffles, molten lava cake and chocolate brownie were divine and therapeutic but I had totally forgotten to snap a picture of the name of the cafe! But we shall be back again soon and I shall remember to snap a picture of the cafe and put up another proper post on it this time.

My brother and family will be back in KL again this weekend and the girls look forward to another happy weekend spending time with them.

Healthy Homecooked Dinner

Here's another easy peasy, simple and no-frills dinner that I cooked on one of the weekdays this week. It's very colorful (which is healthy and pretty!) with all the nutritious colorful veggies ranging from red to orange, yellow and green.

Pan-fried chicken fillet with tau cheong (bean paste), coarse black pepper, garlic, onions. maple syrup and sweet corns.

Blanched organic brocolli, again!  And ABC soup with Sakura chicken. The girls only like ABC soup and lotus root soup, so it's easy job for me as I only rotate between these two soups and throw in vegetable soups once or twice a week :D

Cass decorated her plate of dinner. Can you visualize what it is?
She says the broccoli florets are the tree branches and leaves, the chicken fillet is the tree bark, sweet corn kernel the ants, carrots are the fruits from the tree, celery the earth worms, onions the clouds and cherry tomatoes are the flowers :D

Three Simple Ways To Enhance Your Child's Level Of Wellness

If you're like most parents, ensuring that your child attains and maintains great health is very important to you. Luckily, there are several simple strategies you can use to increase the likelihood that your child will become and remain a healthy, happy individual.

Here are three of them:
1. Utilize Testing Kits. One great way to optimize your child's level of wellness is to invest in testing kits. These kits help you determine whether your son or daughter is grappling with a specific disease. Companies like Diagnostic Automation/Cortez Diagnostics, Inc. provide their clients with elisa kits and a wide range of other testing kits that can help you obtain a diagnosis when your child experiences symptoms of a disease or debilitating condition.

2. Make Exercise A Must. If you're really serious about enhancing your kid's health, make exercise a must. Physical activity is very important because it induces a wide range of wellness benefits.
Some of those benefits include: • enhanced sleep • better cognitive function • improved memory • increased metabolism • better posture • enhanced digestion

There are several ways that you can get your child to start engaging in physical activity. One effective strategy is to obtain a gym membership for your family. This way, your entire family can exercise together. Remember to help your child locate forms of physical activity that she or he enjoys. This will increase the likelihood of adherence to an exercise program.

3. Take Healthy Eating Seriously. Although many people joke around about the unhealthy junk foods that they eat, lackluster eating habits is no laughing matter. In fact, failing to eat properly can make an individual more susceptible to a wide range of diseases, including cancer and diabetes. As such, your actions and attitudes regarding food need to show your child that you take healthy eating seriously. The most effective way to show your child the importance of eating healthy is by actually eating the right foods for yourself. In many cases, children adopt a "Monkey See, Monkey Do" attitude and mimic your behaviors, including your food habits. Since this is so, make sure they catch you eating trail mix, not candy bars!

Don't Delay-Start Building Your Child's Health Today!

If you want to ensure that your child leads a healthy life, now is a good time to start implementing strategies that will make this vision a reality. By using testing kits, emphasizing exercise, and taking healthy eating seriously, you will likely find that your children become the happy, productive people that you want them to be!

Cass Has UTI

Yesterday was day 4 of Cass' hospitalization (with home leave) for  UTI (urinary tract infection). It's her first UTI in 5.5 years.

Here's Cass sharing a light moment with her daddy at Starbucks @ Pantai Medical Center while waiting for her doctor to arrive yesterday.

Cass' hand with the IV line wrapped with food cling wrap during shower time.

Pantai Medical Center is designed to look and feel like a 5-star hotel with retail outlets like a shopping mall. Patients would feel very comfy at the hospital. But wait till you see their bill!  Yesterday the billing department staff handed the initial bill to me. It's a whopping RM4,000++ (for 3 nights) and attached together with the bill was a reject letter from our insurer on the claim :(

I'm certain that the bill will shoot up to over RM5k today upon Cass' discharge from the hospital today. We are submitting our appeal letter with another letter from the doctor. Can everyone pray for us that we will get our appeal for claim approved by the insurance company, pretty please? Most importantly, please pray that Cass will never have another UTI attack.  My thanks to your prayers :)

Read more on Cass' UTI at my other blog.

Home-cooked Dinner On A Hectic Week Night

I whipped these dishes up on the day when our dear part-time helper called me on the dot at the time she was supposed to turn up to say that she's not turning up.  All because of the rain, DUH!  I could not believe she did this to me again!

If only she could just give me ample time, I could have easily completed all the chores at my own pace from the morning, all spaced out and carried out leisurely, instead of cramping up all the chores to be done only at 6pm. That's the time when my batteries are already three quarter emptied ok, having had started my day at 4:45am.  Really pissed off with her as this is not the first time she did this to me, despite many reminders from me to never give me short notice for not turning up for work.

Anyway, I told myself to remain cool and calm. I spewed out orders to my girls to START WORK RIGHT AWAY.   Anyone who dares defy the orders will have to bear the brunt of the tiger's wrath, which is all iGadgets to be confiscated, TV remote control confiscated and don't they dare ask me for money!

So boom bang bang, they hurriedly helped to sweep the floor, mop the floor, keep the laundry and fold the laundry whilst I cooked.

I dished up a grilled boneless sesame chicken thigh.

Sauteed organic baby 'lai park' veggie with minced tau cheong, minced garlic, onions and fresh button mushrooms.

I grilled enough chicken for the girls' lunch the next day.

Ingredients for grilled sesame chicken thighs:

Marinate chicken thighs with:
Soy sauce
Minced ginger (I used freshly grated ginger and ginger sauce from our regular chicken rice stall)
A dash of Chinese cooking wine
Sesame seed oil
Pepper
Instead of hoisin sauce, which is used in most recipes, I replaced it with liquid palm sugar, which is a healthier alternative. Do note that hoisin sauce contains flavor enhancer and a string of unhealthy ingredients in it.
Sesame seeds
Chopped scallions

Preparation
1. In a medium bowl, combine all the above ingredients and mix well.
2.  Wash chicken thighs and place into bowl of sauces for marinate. You can also use chicken wings, drummets or drumsticks.
3. Instead of grilling the chicken on a charcoal grill, I grilled it in the oven, on an oven tray lined with aluminum foil  I always choose the fastest and easiest alternative :D
4.  Grill chicken for 15 minutes and baste with remaining marinate sauce and more liquid palm sugar / honey.  Turn chicken thighs over and baste again and grill for another 15-20 minutes.
5.  Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and scallions.

This is another recipe which everyone in the family will love. Grill extra for the next day lunch or dinner. Happy trying! :)

Cass' BM Story Competition

Cass is taking part in a BM story competition today.  Last night, she recited the story again, just before bed, in front of her daddy, sisters and me... using a loudspeaker!  The loudspeaker is mine - hubs brought it back from his office so that I can holler at the rascals  at home using it without breaking my voice and throat HA HA HA!!

I asked Cass if she's nervous and anxious but you know what? This cili padi told me that she ain't scared at all. In fact, she's looking forward to it! Hopefully her calmness, composure and confidence will soar to great heights as she grows.  With these virtues, I am sure she will soar in life too :)

All the best baby girl. I can't wait to see you later to hear from you on how your story competition went :)

Homecooked Dinner - 22 Octoberr 2015

My lazy dinner on a Thursday night...

Grilled salmon with black pepper, sea salt, garlic, herbs and avocado oil.

Pan-fried fish cutlets to go with onion + garlic + tomato + shredded carrot sauce.

Blanched organic broccoli and left-over prawns from the previous night's dinner.

Super Lutein and Izumio Hydrogen Water - Testimonial From Kidney Dialysis Patient

If you or anyone close to you are currently undergoing dialysis, here's a video that may give you a renewed hope.

The lady in the video took 3 capsules of Super Lutein and 1 packet of Izumio in the morning and another 3 capsules of Super Lutein and 1 packet of Izumio at night for 10 days. When she did a test 10 days after she started on the products, the test showed a drop from 400 to 200.  Her doctor told her that she needn't have to do anymore dialysis!  Amazing isn't it?!

But different people will have different reactions and different time to heal.  There is nothing to lose to give yourself a chance to try the products to get healed from whatever ailments that you are suffering from now.

The products are natural.  Super Lutein has no additives, no fillers and no unwanted substances to bind a table and add load to the kidneys and liver.

Egg Muffins (Flour-Free Muffins)

I discovered another super easy and yummy dinner to whip up on  super busy weekdays.  You can whip this up in less time than it takes for the takeout boy to deliver that pizza or chicken!  If this time-challenged mommy here who dislikes cooking says this is easy and tasty, then anyone can do it! ;)

All you need is about 15 minutes prep time for the ingredients and another 20 minutes for the flour-free egg muffins to bake in the oven, during which time you can  wash the utensils or mop the kitchen floor.

These are the ingredients that I used. You can add any veggie or meat that you like into the egg muffin.  The recipe as shown in the video at the end of this post uses ham and red bell pepper but I omitted them. Deli meat is banned in this household and our girls dislike bell peppers.  I think adding chopped spinach and some minced beef would be delish too.

Ingredients used in my recipe today (yields 9 egg muffins)
8 eggs
Sweet corn kernels
Cherry tomatoes - quartered
Minced garlic
Minced onions
Chopped scallions
Julienned carrots
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Salt
Pepper
Milk
Oil (I used avocado oil)
Cheese

Method
Crack and beat eggs in a large bowl
Add baking soda, salt, pepper, milk and oil and mix well
Spoon the veggies onto paper muffin cups
Pour in egg mixture
Place cheese of your choice on top of the egg mixture
Bake for 20 minutes at 170C

I'm blessed that I have a daughter who loves cooking and helping out in the kitchen.  She helped to julienne the carrots and cucumbers. Sherilyn and I are besties in the kitchen.   Out of the kitchen, it's another story :D

I think this turned out to look like a Halloween meal :D  You can guess who decorated this from the initial on the bread.

Check out this video for the step-by-step instructions for egg muffins
https://www.facebook.com/foodinkmalaysia/videos/752201571590324/

As this was my very first try, I also prepared tuna toast for the girls, JUST IN CASE the egg muffins turn out to be a flop, at least they would have sandwiches.  Always have a simple backup meal for the kids if you are trying out a new recipe for the first time.

For the sandwich filling, I sauteed a can of tuna (I never eat anything straight from a can without cooking it) with minced garlic and onions and spiced it up with some cajun, cumin, pepper, scallions and Japanese mayonaise.

Do give this egg muffin a try. It's not too involved and not ingredients intense. My 2 younger girls were more than glad to help me out. And it's easy to clean up since disposable paper muffin cups are used.  If you take advantage of the time it takes for the egg muffin to bake in the oven, you only actually need to spend 15 minutes prepping the ingredients. I checked my emails and replied my customers when the egg muffins were in the oven.  My garlic and onions were pre-chopped a day earlier and stored in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can heat up the egg muffins in the toaster and aluminum wrap it for your kids to bring to school for recess snack the next morning. Or simply deep-freeze the extras and pop them into the toaster on super busy nights.

Happy trying! :)

Hydrogen Water And Asthma

An asthmatic will start wheezing if he/she is exposed to triggers like alcohol, smoke, haze etc. The muscles surrounding the airways will tighten and the inflammation of the lining and excess mucus will shrink/block the passageway causing one to wheeze and cough.

Hydrogen is not only a very power antioxidant but has anti inflammatory properties. We have an asthmatic member who would  stop wheezing 2-3 minutes after she downed a pack of IZUMIO hydrogenated water and she didn't have to use an inhaler at all (although she had it on standby).

If you or someone you care about would like to seek a natural alternative to manage asthma, share this with them. It's safe. It's chemical free and it has no side effects. It works.

Choose the Right Gloves

It important to choose the right gloves if you are caring for disabled or elderly patients. Quality exam gloves can come in many different sizes and styles. The right gloves can make your life easier.

Make Sure to Pick Well Made Gloves
When it comes to cleanliness and safety, the right gloves are going to be an essential purchase. Do not buy just any product. Instead, look for gloves that are well made and that will be able to help you to do your job properly. Good gloves are an important part of working with disabled or elderly patients.

There are powder and powder free latex glove choices that you can enjoy using with confidence. You can rely on latex gloves to be tear resistant, and they can be thrown away after you use them. These gloves are safe to use if you are dealing with blood or other bodily fluids. Disposable latex gloves can help stop the spread of viruses and much more.

Choose Nitrile Gloves
Nitrile gloves are often even more tear resistant than latex options. They are the perfect choice for anyone with a latex allergy. These gloves will fit your hand just right and are very easy to work in. These gloves can be used for many things and are a nice choice if you work in the medical or care giving field.

Sterile or Non-Sterile Gloves
Sterile gloves are often used for surgery. Some people prefer to use them if they work in the medical field as well. Non-sterile gloves are still a safe option and can prevent the spread of bacteria and disease when they are used. These gloves are often cheaper than sterile gloves too.

When you are looking for the right gloves, you should be sure to choose a quality brand. Durable gloves can be used for many tasks. When you choose to work with disposable gloves, you can be confident that they will offer protection and stop the spread of germs.
