Exercising Is My Life-Saver

I admit I am not only a health freak but also a fitness freak. I love exercising. Those who love exercising will totally agree with me that words cannot describe how beneficial exercise is to your body, mind and soul. You have to try it to experience the benefits yourself.

Lately, I've been writing quite a handful of paid posts. Writing these reviews ain't easy. Sometimes I'll have to really crack my rusty brains on what to write. However, when I go for my daily 40 mins of morning jog each day, the ideas just keep pouring out from my head. It must be the work of the feel good hormones released during exercise. When I return from my jogging session, I feel really refreshed, happy and full of ideas with what to write.

Not only does exercising help with the overall well-being of my body, mind and soul, it keeps my weight in check. I can still eat almost everything that I fancy. Yesterday, I had gorged on 1.5 Beard Papa's cream puff, 1/2 slice of cheese cake from Bread Talk, a big plate of home-cooked fried noodles, some pumpkin seeds candies, a handful of Twisties (haha, my weakness for this junkfood) and of course don't know how many seeds of durian. This morning, I weighed myself on the scale and thankfully, it's still at 43kg!

Ok, I better get down from the soapbox. To everyone out there who has not started on a exercise regime yet, I hope you get motivated and inspired by what I've written.

New Toy Tunnel

This is the new toy that Daddy bought Alycia and Sherilyn yesterday from Toys R Us. Another bulky toy, a tunnel for them to crawl. This is quite a 'healthy' toy because crawling is known to be very beneficial for the development of the brain. In fact, crawling and creeping are highly recommended by Glenn Doman for kids with brain injuries.

Now, my house really looks like a playschool. There's a school-bus tent, a school tent and now a tunnel. Anyone wants to bring your kids to my house to play? You are all welcome :)

Caught In Action

We were at Bread Talk at Mid Valley the other day and Sherilyn who is a bread lover went gila over all the bread and pastries on display. She went hopping round the shop and touched some of the buns, that looked sooooo appetizing. She especially got attracted to the buns with chocolate eyes and mouth decorated on top.

Despite mummy's warning, Sherilyn couldn't resist the temptation and continued touching and even put her finger into her mouth to lick after touching the bread. I quickly pulled her out from the shop before anyone saw us.

A Surprise Call From Shern's Mom

I had a surprise call on my mobile phone an hour ago. Guess who called me? It was Leena aka Shern's Mom. She was at the Mattel warehouse sale at USJ and she called me to ask if I wanted her to help me get some cheap Barbie dolls. She said the Barbie dolls were going for RM10 each. I told her my gals have enough toys, in fact they have too many toys. Just yesterday, DH bought them another 2 new toys.

Anyway I'd like to say a big thank you to Leena for her kind thoughts. It was truly a surprise call for me. I've definitely made many good friends through blogging.

Leena definitely deserves the 'award' from HipnCoolmomma.

Expert In Swallowing Medicine

Sherilyn is now an expert in swallowing her medicine. She used to puke at the sight of medicine whenever she was ill but now, she drinks them like drinking water.... easy peasy, no hassle, no fussing, no crying, no puking (but sometimes she still does puke) BUT there must be at least a slice of cake or some biscuits for her as reward after she has swallowed her medicine.

Notice the plastic bag hanging on the chair? That's for collecting vomit just in case either of the gals puke. I always have a plastic bag hanging on a chair during meal times.

First, I drink my medicine from the tiny medicine cup.

Then, I put the cup down......

and lastly, I sink my tiny teeth into this soft plain chiffon cake. Hhhmmm...... so nice to fall sick, daddy will surely buy me lots of cakes to eat, hehehe......

Home-made Pizza Bread

I made pizza bread for lunch a couple of days ago. It's easy peasy. I used organic bread as the crust. As for the topping, I used minced chicken meat cooked in blended tomatoes and big onions, which was the leftover food from the previous night's dinner. A minute before I switched off the toaster, I put a slice of Kraft cheese on top.

The outcome? Delicious. Both the gals loved them. Even Miss Spitty Spat Sherilyn finished her slice without spitting.

The pizza toasting in the oven.

This one is for Alycia.

And this one with extra cheese is for moi.

Plastic Mats

I have 8 of these plastic mats at home. I put 3 under the gals' bed, 2 under my bed and 2 for the mattress downstairs. I find them really useful for preventing pee, vomit and water from seeping into the mattress. It's better and more practical to place the mats on top of the bedsheet but that would be very hot and uncomfortable for anyone sleeping on it.

Everything Goes Into Her Mouth

DH got these 2 toy cars free when he purchased V-power oil. The gals love them so much as the cars have springs and with a pull backward, the car can zoom forward. A few nights ago, Sherilyn gave me a scare when she ran to me, opened her mouth and said "see mummy". She had yanked off the rubber covering the wheels and put it into her mouth to chew like chewing gum. I almost flipped and quickly pulled out the rubber from her mouth, wiped her mouth with a wet hanky and gave her a piece of my mind. Now, the 2 bright red cars are on my top shelf, decorating my bedroom.

So to all parents out there, be careful of what you give your toddlers. Make sure the toy has no small detachable parts. Another good lesson learnt for DH and me.

A Real Hectic Day

Today is a real busy busy day for me. This morning, I received another 6 offers on the same product from this advertiser but I only accepted 2. You know, this advertiser must have loved me so much that it has given me over 20 offers on the same product and I've written on this product for over 20 times. I feel like a new chef who has to whip up 20 over new styles to cook a dish of duck and mind you, the duck dish has to be really tasty and different in taste from one another. Anyway, I must pat my own back coz I managed to pull through and I must say I work better under pressure, I've always worked better under pressure.

We spent the whole afternoon at Mid Valley shopping and eating. DH's visiting cousin from Taiwan wanted to eat 'lai mien' or pulled noodles so we went to Dragon I Restaurant again. Then, whilst I went to Jaya Jusco and Carrefoure shopping, DH AGAIN secretly brought the gals to Toys R Us and bought 2 new toys. After shopping, we went to Picollo Mondo for spaghetti, pasta and pizzza. Before we left Mid Valley, DH bought boss wifey her favorite Beard Papa's cream puff.

When I came home, I received another 2 offers from 2 other advertisers. So here I am, rushing like mad.

Ok, gotta go. This post is a good enough and long enough for a filler post.

Sweet Chestnuts

DH bought these peeled roasted chestnuts imported from China in packet form from Purple Cane Tea House last week. Alycia and Sherilyn loved them to bits, especially Alycia who insisted to eat them directly from the packet. Yesterday morning, when I poured out some chestnuts into the bowl for Alycia for breakfast, she waaaaaailed and insisted that she wants to eat them from the packet and she finished the whole packet all by herself and then asked for another packet. I am quite sceptical of food and products imported from China as I've read of them being tainted with pesticides, poision and what not. Anything that looks dodgy to me, I won't want to put too much into my body. So when the gals were asleep, I hid the packet of chestnut, haha....

Heartache

A few days ago, as I was busy cleaning the gal's cupboard where they keep their toys, I accidentally knocked down my Lamp Berger infuser and the expensive oil went dripping down from the table onto my thigh. I was squatting down and suddently felt something really cold, like alcohol hitting my thigh and I also heard splats of liquid dropping. When I looked up, I was horrified to see my Lamp Berger infuser on its side and the table, floor and my shorts were soaked with the expensive LB oil. More than half the bottle of oil had spilt out and I think that cost me over a hundered bucks. Hiyah.... what to do, it was my carelessness and there's really no point crying over spilt oil......

Cracked Heel-File

This is not a hair brush, it's a cracked heel-file which my dear mil sent to me from Hong Kong last week.

For years, I've been battling cracked heels and I have really rough and ugly heels. My mil had advised me to use her cracked heel-file when she came back last month but I was too lazy and busy to use it. For years, I've been applying Elgy cracked heel cream, vaseline, shear butter paste, Rosken extra dry skin lotion, Savlon, Bepanthen baby cream, etc. etc. I've tried almost all the creams one can find from the pharmacy but none helped to relieve my cracked heel until I used this cracked heel-file. The result is amazing and just after 1 use, I saw DRAMATIC results. I've now used it religiously for 5 days already and I am so happy with the results. My heels are so much smoother now.

For those of you with cracked heels problem, go get this gadget, it really works for me, and I must thank my mil for it.

This is NOT a sponsored post :)

Toys That Sharpen The Mind

SIL#3 bought this educational toy from New Zealand for the gals months back but it's only recently that I have brought out this toy for them to play. I have a cupboard full of new toys, books, colour pencils and stickers that my sils had bought the gals and I release them bit by bit.

For this toy, someone must sit with the child to guide her with it. It's both educational and fun. Alycia can sit with me for almost an hour to play with this toy but Sherilyn will be messing up the blocks. Anyway, Sherilyn has learnt some of the shapes through playing with this toy. Now, both Alycia and Sherilyn know the basic shapes like circle, square, heart, oval, star, diamond, semi-circle, crescent, pentagon and rectangle. They can pronounce octagon and hexagon but can't tell which is which.

Another Lucky Day For Me

Today is another lucky day for me. This morning I got 1 offer from ReviewMe and 7 offers from Blogitive but I only accepted 5 from Blogitive coz I am not the greedy type. When my plate is full and can no longer fit in anymore, I'll gracefully decline more offers. Hey, anyway writing 6 paid posts in 1 day is NO JOKE man. This is not my full-time job. Moreover today, I've been busy.... we went to the paed's office, then went out for lunch and when we came home, had to feed Sher medicine and then put 2 hyper toddlers to sleep. I have not even touched my newspapers yet. Ok I better stop talking crap here, gotta continue working now.....

And oh yes, if I've not dropped by your blog yet, don't be mad k, I will definitely visit your blog either tonight or tomorrow :)

Sherilyn My Little Terror

Yesterday morning as Sherilyn was doing her poopy business on her potty, her itchy hands were busy twisting the drawer knobs and she unscrewed all the drawer knobs and played with them. Sensing trouble ahead, I wanted to stop her from playing as I just had a bad feeling she'd throw one or two knobs into her potty but before I could even say "stop playing", I heard Sherilyn saying "uh oh..... i drop it inside my potty". Shit..... i am in deep shit coz i would have to fish the knob out from the pile of shit. Oh, what shitty business have I got myself into for neglecting Sherilyn for just 5 minutes. Eeewwww........ so i brought the potty to the backyard, put on triple layers of plastic bags over my hands and fished out the pooped covered drawer knob, wrapped it in another layer of plastic bag and chucked it into the bin.

The botak chest of drawers with knobs all removed by Ms Itchy Fingers Sherilyn.

Alycia Loves Seeing The Doctor

I found out today the real reason why Alycia always pretends to be sick. It's no other reason than food again. After Alycia had recovered from cough recently, it's Sher's turn now and she's got quite a bit of phlegm that irritates her throat and causes her to puke easily. I didn't get to sleep the whole of last night coz the minute Sher coughed, I'd get startled and then I'd worry that she would puke. Today, we brought Sher to the paed's office to get some medicine. If we go to this paed's office located at Sri Petaling, daddy would surely bring us to Overseas Restaurant located a few doors away from the clinic to eat dim sum after seeing the paed.
As daddy made a turn into the road leading to the paed's office, Alycia excitedly said "daddy, i want to eat dim sum". My maid and I laughed coz for the past few days, she's been pretending to cough whenever she hears her sister coughs and she'd say "mummy, i m sick, i want to see the doctor". But mummy knows she's just pretending as she wanted attention from me too. Today, I found out that her real reason is she wants to eat dim sum from Overseas Restaurant!

Kids Say The Darnest Things - Part 3

Conversation 1

Alycia - Mum, long time we din go back to Ipoh to see koong koong and granny.
Me - yup, you miss them?
Alycia - Yess....
Me - we will go back to Ipoh next month to celebrate koong koong's birthday, are you happy?
Alycia - Yyess..... and gives me a big grin.
Me - so what are you going to give koong koong for his birthday?
Alycia - hmmmm......a BIG hug....
Me - only a big hug?
Alycia - and a balloon....
Me - what shape balloon?
Alycia - hmmmmm... heart shape and hmmmmmm..... a square balloon.

Conversation 2

Alycia and Sherilyn had just gotten up from their afternoon nap and Alycia started to whine for no apparent reasons. After I had failed to subdue Alycia, I gave up and brought Sherilyn to the bathroom and as I was washing up Sherilyn...

Sher - mummy, where is Alycia?
Me - Alycia is whining and crying in the hall. Mummy hates the sounds of whining and crying you know, make me mad.
Sher - make me mad oso.
Me - you also always whine and cry for no reason, right?
Sher - ahahahaha......

Conversation 3

We were having dim sum at Overseas Restaurant today and Sherilyn was placed on a baby chair with a seat belt that was spoilt.

Sher to me - my seat belt is spoilt. Aunty, aunty.. ... halo halo.... please come and fix my seat belt, it's spoilt..... as she waves her hand to the waitress.
All of us laughed at her.

Sherilyn Is So Crafty and Full Of Ideas

Ms Spitty Spat Sherilyn is so crafty and full of ideas. Whenever she wants something or doesn't want something, she surely knows how to think of a cunning way to achieve her mission.

Whenever my maid feeds her chicken meat or fish meat that is a bit rough and hard to swallow, she will spit them all out into the food catcher of her bib. My maid will then scoop the food and put it back into her mouth.

Yesterday, she finally thought of a way to stop kakak from scooping the food and chucking them back into her mouth. Instead of spitting the food into her bib, she spat it out into her cup of water. See how artful this little sly fox is.

Kids Say The Darnest Things - Part 2

More funny, touching and darn things that my gals had said :

Conversation 1
Kakak - Ok, everyone, please help kakak pick up the toys.
Sherilyn - I'm so tired.... (and then lets out a big sigh)

Conversation 2
Sherilyn sitting on her potty - Jajak (kakak)... i stomachache.... please help me.... please please......(as she scrunches her tummy in pain with her hands)
Jajak and mummy then burst out laughing.

Conversation 3
Alycia - Mum, you are so pretty, like an angel...
Me - Thank you Alycia. You're also very pretty and you're also mummy's angel. Why do you say mummy is pretty like an angel? Have you seen how an angel looks like?
Alycia - No, but you look like a princess.

Conversation 4
On a dark evening as it was raining heavily.....
Me - Take a look outside Alycia, it's raining cats and dogs and it's so dark
Alycia - Where, where.... where got cats and dogs?
Me - Raining cats and dogs means raining very heavily.
Me - Ohhh........
