CMCO Day 192 ~ Friday, 18 December 2020

Today is Cass' first trip to the mall in 4 months. She's not gone out of the neighborhood ever since the 2nd CMCO was imposed more than 2 months ago.   If not for her eye power check at ISEC @ Mid Valley Megamall, she would have continued to be a hermit, waiting for the CMCO to be lifted 😓

Today's outing to the mall is like Cass' release from prison. She asked to go to all her favorite stores --  MPH and Popular book stores, Lego store, Typo, Muji and the toy stores at the Concourse area to check out Harry Potter merchandise. She's a true blue Potterhead and is still very much in love with this character after 4 years.

Cass requested to have brunch at Go Noodles House so that she could check out the books at MPH while I waited for the food. Go Noodles House is located right outside MPH.   I also got Cass all her favorite snacks - GSC popcorn and Boost Juice.  Next we went to Aeon to hunt for her high school uniform.

The Christmassy atmosphere at the mall is not as intense and joyous as it used to be in previous years.  At this time of the year in previous years, Mid Valley Megamall was packed with shoppers and tourists.  There were long queues at fitting rooms, stage performances, Santa Clause/Santarina making their rounds at the mall distributing gifts and I would have to make more than 100 rounds at the car park to find a place to park.  I see none of these this year and I had to be very cautious with every Ringgit that I spend.

There ain't much difference in Cass' eye power since her last check up in June this year, albeit a slight increase on the left eye - which is the good eye, no thanks to excessive screen time and her persistently forgetting to wear her glasses. She now needs Myopine eye drop on both eyes (previously on just the right eye) to slow down the progression of myopia. Her next eye power check will be in 9 months.  And her bill today inclusive of 2 super tiny 5ml bottles of Myopine eye drops cost RM260! 😱
