Barista’s Choice Milk from The Farm Shop

Today, while strolling through the chiller section of my neighborhood supermarket, something new caught my eye—a brand I hadn’t seen before, The Farm Shop. Their range of premium milk stood out, featuring everything from homogenized Jersey cow milk to Channel Island milk, pasteurized milk, and Barista’s Choice Milk.  The price is definitely higher than that of the usual brands.

But as a coffee lover, I couldn’t resist picking up a box of Barista’s Choice Milk to try with my morning coffee.

Back home, I quickly tried this new milk. To my surprise, it was incredibly creamy, yet without that overpowering milky taste that I usually dislike. It had the perfect balance of smoothness and richness, making it ideal for frothing.

Cass, my little milk, butter, and cheese monster, was just as eager to try it. She poured some into her coffee and immediately gave it a thumbs-up! Clearly, this milk is a winner for both of us. I am pretty sure that Sherilyn will like it too when she tries it with her gourmet coffee and matcha.  She's into coffee-making and coffee art and even attended several barista courses to equip herself with an added skill.

At about RM2 more expensive than my usual brand of fresh milk, is it worth it? I think so. While I won’t be switching entirely, I’ll definitely alternate between Barista’s Choice Milk and my regular, cheaper brand. Some days call for an extra indulgent cup of coffee, and this milk delivers exactly that.

If you’re someone who enjoys rich, creamy milk for coffee, this is worth a try. Plus, The Farm Shop offers home delivery, making it even more convenient.

Have you tried The Farm Shop’s milk yet? If so, which one’s your favorite? Let me know! ☕🥛

UPDATE ON 21 MARCH 2025:  The milk turned sour on the third day after it was opened and I had to discard the remaining milk. So if you want to give this milk a try, do finish it within 2 days.
