Deepavali Hamper From My Neighbor

My Sikh family neighbor gave me a basket of goodies this evening. When she called me, I was so hoping that she would give me some piping hot tosei or chapatti with her aromatic curry which has always caused my tummy to rumble when the aroma of her cooking wafted to my house. I was really disappointed that there were not Indian cuisine in the basket. Nevertheless, there were some peaches and fragrant pears and 3 jars of goodies in the basket - a jar of London Almond cookies, a jar of bees' hives cookies and a jar of muruku. Yay, I saw muruku, something that I have wanted to eat for a long long time and the last I ate them was years ago. Nevermind, no curry but there's muruku, yum!

I'm Craving For Banana Muffins

As I was in the shower a moment ago, I suddenly had a craving for banana muffins. Why? That's because my yohurt hair conditioner smelled of banana muffin. I know I'm going to be thinking of banana muffins the whole night long and I'm so going to ask hubby to get me a couple of them tomorrow morning. Luckily I have some banana flavored fresh milk in the fridge which can temporarily satisfy my craving!

Decaffeinated Coffee

This is the decaffeinated coffee that I drink each time I am pregnant. I alternate between Milo with skim milk and decaffeinated coffee with skim milk each morning. I used to drink Anmum and Enfamama during both my previous pregnancies but not at all this time. Some gynaes say these mama milk formula are only for those who are not eating well and if you're eating well, there's no need to drink them. What beverages do you drink when you're preggers?

Unable To Recover Lost Posts

I am really disappointed and dissatisfied with my host. They are unable to recover a single post that were lost from my blog. I have spent the last few days counting how many posts I have lost and so far, more than 30 posts were lost (I think there are more) and most were unapproved and unpaid paid posts. So you go figure how much money I'm going to loose all because this incapable and lousy host did not back up my posts. My head is really throbbing today and each time I discover another paid post that's lost, my head and heart hurt even more. In order to save my money from going down the drain, I think I now have to re-write and re-submit all those posts that were lost, but tell me, where on earth am I going to find the time in such a short time? What the fun.... doing double work and wasting all my time and energy. If someone had hacked my blog, all I can say is 'you wait and see, what comes around goes around'.

If you're looking for a good website that can help you back-up your blog posts for free, check out BlogBackUpOnline.com. Thank God they managed to recover the lost posts from my Blogspot blog. The person handling my case even offered to call me but in the end, we just communicated via Google chat. They are very professional and prompt in handling my case. I'd like to give them a big thumbs up.

School Holidays

Alycia's school will be closed tomorrow and on Friday for the Deepavali holidays. It's going to be a short school break for Alycia, which is good for her and me as I don't have to wake her up so early, and I will have an hour extra to do my work in the morning.

Next week will be the start of the long school holidays. On Thursday, there is a children's day pot-luck party and on Friday, there will be a Parents-Teachers Day. Her pre-school has holiday programs for kids ranging from Drama and Speech class, cooking and science class, art class and much more. It's about RM200+ a month per subject. I'm keen to send her to these classes so that she will not play till she becomes a lazy bum, which happens most of the time. There is also a visit to the Yakult factory on the 21st of November.

Most Expensive Bread I've Ever Eaten

The other day, sil got us a loaf of bread from Bangsar Village. It's a Japanese bread and it cost RM18 for a long loaf. You can also get half a loaf at RM9. It's one of the most expensive breads I've ever eaten but I must say it tasted really good - creamy and tasty. You can even eat it own its own without putting any jam or ham on it. This bread is also available outside Jaya Jusco at Mid Valley. Alycia and Sher call this 'cake bread' as it tastes a tad like cake too.

Post Amniocentesis - Day 1

After the Amnio procedure yesterday, I had expected some cramping, spotting or perhaps a leak in amniotic fluid but thank God, I have not experienced any of these yet and I hope I will never experience them. I am taking everything very slowly - walk slow, sit or lie down most of the time and I let my maid handle the kids. I have another appointment to see my gynae tomorrow and I hope everything inside looks fine. The hardest part now is waiting for the results, which will only be out in 2 weeks.

Tag : My Travel Fantasy

This mummy would like to know my travel fantasy. Well, if I have enough money, I would really love to visit Japan and eat the freshest raw fish, scallops and sea urchins, have a skiing trip in Switzerland, bring the kids to Disneyland in Orlando (so much have been written on this place LOL!) or Disneyland in Hong Kong not forgetting an Alaskan cruise.

Not tagging anyone this time.

Amniocentesis Experience

Had my Amnio done today. It wasn't as painful as I had imagined but the fear and worry were definietly greater than anything else. The preparation before the Amnio took about 15-20 minutes. There were just so many sterile equipment used and I was covered by a sterile green cloth. I felt as if I was in the OT and it was also freezing cold in the room. I was trembling away, both in cold and in fear.

My gyane cleaned my belly with many layers of antiseptic wash. The needle used to poke my belly was as fine as a strand of hair and it was long too. When my gynae poked it in, I felt a sudden tingling and mild cramp inside my tummy, near the womb area. What was only about 3-5 minutes felt like an hour when he was aspirating the amniotic fluid from the sac. I saw my baby on the screen, moving about and I was terribly worried that it might get poked by the needle. I was really worried and felt really tensed. 2 syringes of yellow colored fluid was aspirated out. Throughout the procedure, my gynae kept asking his assistant to pour saline and sterile water on my belly.

After the Amnio, I had to lie on the bed for an hour. My gynae has advised me to lie down for the next 2 days to reduce the risk of a miscarriage. So, I have to put blogging on hold and take a good rest for the next 2 days. Sorry if I've not been visiting your blog.

That's How Sherilyn Eats Her Medicine

One spoonfull of ice cream followed by one sip of medicine, that's how Sherilyn eats her medicine. As long as she eats her medicine and does not put up a fuss or puke, I'll let her have any treats from cakes to crackers, but her all-time favorite is still ice cream. Now, the gals love falling ill coz that's the time mummy would let them indulge in all these sweet treats.

Our Sunday

It's a day of non-stop eating for us today. We had Dim Sum at Imbi Palace for lunch. When we got home, my parents from Ipoh arrived. They will be flying off to China tomorrow. My dad bought some famous Ipoh hawkers' food for us and we all ate again. Tonight, we'll be having dinner at the Japanese restaurant at Shangri La Hotel since sil will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.

I didn't do much blogging today. I spent all the time that I have checking all my unapproved posts by 3P and other networks to ensure that the posts are still in my blog. I had asked the host for my own blog to check if they have the lost posts backed up in their system but the hopeless host asked me to check them myself from my Cpanel. It is impossible for a person who is not IT savant to comprehend those IT jargons, codes and language. I get really pissed off with them. Every single request to them has always been tai chied back to me. I just have a feeling I will not be able to recover all my lost posts. My only hope now is that after the computer guy re-installs the IE old version into my PC, my posts will re-appear again.

I still have a few outstanding paid posts and I doubt I will have the time to complete them by tomorrow (the due date) as I'll be going for my Amnio test tomorrow. Moreover, I feel so down and just don't have the mood to write. The ideas just don't seem to flow. Guess I will have to let the tasks expire.

Big Pee Mess

Alycia made a huge mess yesterday when she accidentally peed on the mattress during her afternoon nap. She can normally hold her bladder for at least 2 - 2.5 hours during her afternoon nap but yesterday, I guess she must have been too exhausted since we were out for lunch. Her bolster, pillows, bedsheet and the new mattress were soaked with her pee. I even had to discard a new pillow as it was drippling with her pee. Though there was a layer of plastic mat beneath her and another layer of plastic sheet beneath the bedsheet, everything still got drenched. Her output must be a heavy one! I think plastic sheets and mats are not good enough. I should revert to disposable water-proof papers from Pureen as they absorb water which plastic sheets don't. My maid has to do do a major laundry session today!

Delicious Prawn Noodles

This is the prawn noodles that I ate at Banquet @ Bangsar Village yesterday afternoon. It tasted really good and the thick rich broth was piping hot and spicy too. It came with 2 big prawns, half a hard boiled egg, chicken meat, spinach and fried shallots. As I was slurping the noodles, I accidentally choked on the spicy broth. Ouch, that really hurt and my throat was burning and tingling for a good 1 hour. So if you order this dish at Banquet next time, be careful not to slurp the noodles hastily.

The prawn noodles don't really look appetitizing here coz it was half eaten. I had forgotten to snap a pic of it when it arrived. I was famished!

Lost Posts = Lost Payment

I have just received an email from an advertising network. The post that I had published in my blog 25 days ago could not be found and as such, they are unable to make payment to me though they had earlier approved my post. All my posts labeled under this advertising network have vanished from both my blogs, as well as all the posts from another advertising network! I have a few unpaid tasks from these 2 advertising networks. Oh gosh, why is this happening? I'm going to loose a lot of money if my posts cannot be retrieved. I've asked the computer guy to check my PC next week and to reinstall the old IE version back. It could be my blog does not support the new version of IE. Does it sound logical OR does being invaded by malicious virus or being hacked sound more logical? Can someone please help me retrieve my lost posts please, pretty pretty please?

Pork Chop For Dinner

I've marinated some pork chop and my maid is now pan frying them. The aroma of the pork chop from the kitchen has wafted through the air in the house and my tummy is rumbling now. I made pork chop too several days ago but they turned out tough coz I had forgotten to add some corn flour. I hope my pork chops will turn out tender and tasty today. As for my gals who have just recovered from mouth ulcer, I will be cooking some pumpkin vermicelli for them with watercress soup. Have also asked my maid to steam a cod fish for them. Since today's a Saturday, are you dining out or cooking up a storm at home?

Chocolates

I am not a chocolate lover but I still indulge in them once in a blue moon if they are imported chocolates. There's this chocolate called Almond Gold by Whittaker's that's really tasty. This chocolate is made up of a generous amount of roasted almonds and covered in milky chocolate. I love it as the almonds are more than the chocolate and it's not too sweet. Not sure if you can get this chocolate here coz my sil normally gets them for us from New Zealand.

Fetal Movements

I was rather worried that at 16 weeks, I'm still not feeling my baby's movements. When I was carrying Alycia, I could feel the fetal movements as early as 12 weeks, with Sherilyn it was a little later, at around 14-15 weeks and with this baby, I've only felt it flutter intermittently for the last 2 days at 16 weeks. How soon did you feel your baby's fluttering movements when you were pregnant? Would love to hear and compare.

Lost Posts

I discovered that some of the posts from both my blogs have disappeared out of the blue a few days ago. I realized they had vanished when the number of posts in my blogspot blog showed only 900+ when it should be around 1,050. When I checked the posts, they have indeed vanished from my blog. Has anyone experience this before? Could this be my computer has been invaded by some malicious virus? Gosh, this is scary. I really want to recover my lost posts, over 100 of them. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

What A Waste

I had recently opened a box of Pecan cereals to eat and then used a plastic clipper to seal the packet of cereals before placing it on a kitchen shelf. A few days later, when I had wanted to eat the cereal, I was disgusted to see that the bag of cereal was filled with tiny ants, the entire packet of it! Eeuuu.... it was so geli that without second thoughts, I threw the packet of cereal away. What a waste as the box of cereal cost more than RM10. Now I know that this cereal is loaded with sugar coz I have another packet of organic cereal with reduced sugar kept in the same shelf and the smart ants didn't creep into that box. So lesson learnt, do not buy this brand of cereal again and always keep my cereals in an airtight container or in the fridge.

Reject or Crack Your Head?

What do you do when you've accepted an offer to write a review on a topic that you have no idea what to write about or the subject is totally alien to you? Do you reject it or spend an hour cracking your head and praying for a brainwave? Well, if I have the time, I will do some google search on the product, then write about it. But most times, I'll rather be lying on the couch watching TV than crack my poor head. In times like this, I'll wait till the eleventh hour for the offer to expire and if I still have no brainwave, I'll reject the offer.
