What A Waste

I had recently opened a box of Pecan cereals to eat and then used a plastic clipper to seal the packet of cereals before placing it on a kitchen shelf. A few days later, when I had wanted to eat the cereal, I was disgusted to see that the bag of cereal was filled with tiny ants, the entire packet of it! Eeuuu.... it was so geli that without second thoughts, I threw the packet of cereal away. What a waste as the box of cereal cost more than RM10. Now I know that this cereal is loaded with sugar coz I have another packet of organic cereal with reduced sugar kept in the same shelf and the smart ants didn't creep into that box. So lesson learnt, do not buy this brand of cereal again and always keep my cereals in an airtight container or in the fridge.

Reject or Crack Your Head?

What do you do when you've accepted an offer to write a review on a topic that you have no idea what to write about or the subject is totally alien to you? Do you reject it or spend an hour cracking your head and praying for a brainwave? Well, if I have the time, I will do some google search on the product, then write about it. But most times, I'll rather be lying on the couch watching TV than crack my poor head. In times like this, I'll wait till the eleventh hour for the offer to expire and if I still have no brainwave, I'll reject the offer.

Birds' Nest

These are the raw birds' nest that sil got me from Hong Kong. Really lazy to soak them and remove the dirt but since I've got so much of them now, I better cook them before they turn mouldy. Just hope this baby will turn out fair, healthy and beautiful since it's got so much good stuff from mummy.

Balloon Craze

Alycia and Sherilyn are crazy over balloons. They love balloons of all types and shapes, especially the long sculpturing balloons. Last week, daddy bought the gals a big packet of sculpturing balloons. They've been asking kakak to pump the balloons for them everyday and sculpture them into all sorts of shapes too. Now, our house is filled with balloons!

Ice-Cream To The Rescue

Daddy bought a tub of Haegan Daz ice cream for the gals to soothe their aching throats resulting from the ulcers. Now, the gals look forward to eating their medicine coz they know they can have a very nice and sweet treat to go with their medicine. As for me, it's a breeze feeding them medicine - no more fuss and no more puking!

Hubby Needs To Detoxify His Body

I am a health freak but sadly my healthy regimen does not seem to rub off on hubby who does not seem to care much about his health. He eats whatever he fancies though some of the food are really unhealthy and he doesn’t drink enough plain water. That’s why he falls sick easily, always feels bloated and has joint pains on his legs. I think he has lots of toxins accumulated in his body and what he really needs is a good colon cleanse to detoxify his body. Knowing that he will not take the trouble to find out about colon cleansing, I have done some reading for him and I’ll be buying a colon cleansing kit for him too.

Hairy Crabs From Hong Kong

When my sil from HK came a couple of days ago, she brought along some live hairy crabs (tai chak hai). Though I'd seen them when we went to Hong Kong 2 years ago, but we didn't get a chance to eat them. I'd badly wanted to sample them but again, I can't try them as I'm preggers now. It was indeed very hard to resist my temptation seeing everyone eating piping hot steamed fresh hairy crabs with special black vinegar sauce and ginger that my sil had prepared. They looked so good, especially the creamy yellow crab roe oozing out from the crabs. Torture!

A Very Nice Lady

Before I met Barbara, we were merely communicating via emails and telephone but I could already feel the warmth and sincerity of her friendship. It was really great to be able to meet her for the first time on Sunday last week at the bloggers' meet. This very nice lady even took the trouble to get all the kids who came a 'first time meet' gift. How nice of her. Since I had told her that I wanted to get the dried fruit snacks that she had bought for Ashley, she bought 2 packets of them and a packet of animal-shaped cookies for the gals. How very thoughtful of her.

Nice Ladies Golf Apparel

Whilst window shopping at the sports section of a shopping mall several months ago, I came across some very nice women’s golf apparel. I don’t play golf and I’ve never bought myself any golf apparel but a pink skorts (a.k.a. skirt cum shorts) caught my attention. I decided to try it on and to my surprise, I looked really good in it. Without hesitation, I bought the skorts. Ever since, I’ve been looking around for golf skorts and recently, I saw some very nice golf apparel ladies at WomensGolfProShop.com. See the 2 skorts here? After discount, the orange one costs only $29.88 and the floral one costs $49.88. I’m really tempted to buy them but since I’m pregnant now, I guess I’ll have to wait until I’ve delivered.

A Bose Home Theater For Our Home?

My hubby loves watching DVDs and you’ll be amazed with his collection. I think he has so many DVDs and VCDs collected over the years that he can even set up a shop to sell them. One of the many items on hubby’s wish-list is to get a Bose home theater so that he can watch his collection of DVDs as if he were in a cinema with Dolby sound system. And to complete the Bose home theater, he’s also eyeing a recliner home theater seating!

What Goes Up Often Comes Down

If you ask me if I'm happy with my newly promoted PR from 0 to 4, I'd say yes I am but I'm worried that it will be demoted again. Today, Barbara told me that her PR went down again. Her PR was like a see-saw going up and down for the last few days, as with other bloggers too. Really don't know why it's so unstable and I wonder how Google ranks blogs. So I better make hay while the sun shines coz I never know when it will be gloomy again.

My Paternal Grandma

My paternal grandma is over 80 years of age. Apart from having slight senile dementia and incontinence, she is otherwise very healthy. Her slight incontinence and strong refusal to go to the toilet only started early this year. Because of this problem, my mum had to get her incontinence supplies like adult diapers and water-proof sheets to line her bed. They say that as a person ages, his/her behavior is slowing regressing and reverting back to a child’s behavior. I hope I won’t be like this when I live till that old ripe age of 80!

Amniocentesis

As the days are drawing nearer to my Amnio test, I'm beginning to worry. My mind is flooded with so many negative thoughts - from an Amnio test that turns awry resulting in a miscarriage and pre-term labour to a bad report. I'm even imagining that if the test turns out negatively, going thru a termination of the pregnancy. I know it's really bad to have such negative thoughts but I have to get myself prepared just in case it really doesn't turn out well. I can only pray now that all will turn out well.

Thank God She Loves Eggs

Sherilyn my herbivore hates meat. I am often worried whether she'll get enough protein for her growing body. Luckily she still loves her eggs and she eats a hard-boiled egg every morning. Sometimes I give her Endamame beans for breakfast but she will still ask for her egg. Thank God egg is the one food that she never seems to get bored with as it's a real wholesome and nutricious food.

Maid Issues

My maid has been extra hardworking and nice lately. Maybe it's because she fears that we would find out about her secret dalliance with the guard and is now making amends. Though she's leaving in 2.5 months' time, but she is still quite detailed in her work and even takes the initiative to wash all the curtains and wipe the inside of the drawers to keep the gals' toys yesterday and today. I've been observing her behavior closely today and have been watching her carefully when she went out to hang the laundry and keep the laundry. Her guard boyfriend came to clock in at our house porch in the morning and shouted across to her commenting on the fish in our fish pond. After the short meeting with her boyfriend, she has been so happy and hardworking the entire day. Well, I guess it's a normal human reaction, especially for one who's been apart from her family and from men for almost 2 years. I won't say if she's in the wrong coz I'm not in her shoes and I won't know how she feels. I know that if I keep her longer, she may run away with this guard. This maid story is just so common in almost every household and is the 2nd time happening to me!

Delicious Duck Dish At Delicious

At the bloggers' gathering last Sunday, I was so busy chatting away that I didn't even order my lunch. Instead, hubby ordered for me. He ordered a pasta marinara for himself, a scrambled egg and croissants for the gals, a mushrooom soup and a bowl of curry noodles for our maid. I thought he had ordered a beef pie for me or maybe a pasta but I was wrong. A waiter went round the tables asking who ordered ***** (this duck dish has a French name), everyone shook their heads, including me. When the waiter came back to our table and asked again if we had ordered this duck dish, hubby who was outside the restaurant, stepped in and said that it's our order. I was surprised that hubby had ordered a duck dish for me as I don't really fancy duck but this dish was really tasty. It didn't have the usual duck odour as it was very well marinated and well roasted. It was also served with beef sausages and baked beans in tomato sauce. Not bad, I won't mind ordering this dish again if we visit Delicious again.

No Cancellation of Order Please!

Today, I received an offer with the highest payout I've ever received from an advertiser, at USD37.50. Without hesitation, I accepted the offer as it was on a topic which I was familiar with. I quickly typed the post and submitted it as I know this particular company has advertisers who are very fond of cancelling orders. I can only hope that the advertiser will accept and approve my post, else all my effort will go down the drain.

What An Oily Mess

I was busy working on my computer when suddenly Alycia my whistle blower yelled out to me "mummy..... Kay Yi is playing with baby oil!!". I ran to the dining area and saw my little brat playing with baby oil and she had smothered the oil all over her hands and arms and poured some on the floor too. That brat, even with fever she can be up to mischief!

Maid Issues Again

I got a shock yesterday when hubby told me that our neighbor had informed him that she saw our maid passing love letters to a security guard on patrol. At our neighborhood, there are security guards patrolling the area on motorcycles. Our house is one of the points where the security guards have to clock in at an equipment outside our porch.

I've seen my maid chatting with the guards quite frequently but for short periods, say 1 minute the longest. Sometimes I would suspect that there's something going on between them, but how can an affair develop when I'm always at home guarding her? We also bring our house keys up everynight, so she has no chance of sneaking out. With our previous maids, we never kept the keys each night when we went upstairs to sleep. That's how our 2 previous maids sneaked out together at 3am each day to their boyfriends' house and even brought their boyfriends back to our house for a dalliance.

My hubby and I have decided to close an eye on this matter as she'll be leaving in 2.5 months. So far her performance is still good and as long as she does not bring us trouble, we'll just have to close one eye but be on our guards at the same time.

Updates - Alycia's Fever and Throat Ulcer

Alycia finally went back to school today after being absent for 2 days. She still hasn't completed her course of antibiotics but today it will be her last day. The antibiotics is still causing her slight diarrhoea and I hope she won't accidentally poo poo in her panty in school today. Thank God Alycia loves going to school and she still has no problems waking up early to go to school.
