My Unlucky Day: Got a Parking Saman!

Today is officially my unlucky day. I got a parking saman! 😩

I thought I could just park my car for less than 5 minutes to grab a few items from 99 Speedmart in my neighbourhood. After all, I was only going to be inside for a minute or two, right?

While I was at the counter, I suddenly heard a lady shouting, “Chow phai!” (police issuing summonses!).

OMG! I immediately abandoned my shopping, ran out of the shop without even finishing paying, but alas, it was too late. The saman had already been issued. 😭

So, lesson learned, people! Even if you're just popping into a shop for ONE minute and your car is parked right outside, don't take the risk!

Don't be lazy to open your TNG app to pay for parking. Don't try to save 30 sen by paying for just 30 minutes (or whatever the minimum parking duration is in your area). That little bit of money you think you're saving could end up costing you much more!

Here's the cost of my lesson:

RM15 if paid within 7 days

RM20 if paid within 8–14 days

RM30 if paid after 14 days

Well, this auntie has learned a lesson today. Not a very expensive one, thankfully, but one that makes me want to bang my head against the wall. 🤦‍♀️😂

Now, should I wait and hope the government will announce another traffic saman discount campaign?

Nah! Better not gamble on that. I'll just pay it today, get this shit out of my mind, be law abiding, and move on with life.

From now on, even if I'm stepping out of the car for just HALF A MINUTE, I'm paying for parking first!
