I Hate Messy Beds

One of the many nonsense that I have to tolerate after my 2 angels came along is messy beds. I've always hated messy and dirty beds. Before I had kids, I did not like anyone, apart from DH, siting on my bed. My bedroom, especially my bed is my paradise and I'd like it to be clean, neat, smell nice and tidy all the time. But after the gals came along, I'd slowly but surely changed. My tolerance to dirt and mess has improved. Every night, my bed would be messed up with toys, books, nappies, blankies, pillows and pillow and bolster case would be removed, the list goes on. Sometimes, I'd have to sleep on a pee and vomit drenched mattress or pillow. It's amazing how motherhood has changed me, the fussy pot!

What's It With The Nappies?

I don't know what's it with the nappies that Alycia and Sherilyn would go crazy over them. The white cloth nappies are one of their favourite 'toys' and they can think of all sorts of ways to play with the nappies from wrapping their soft toys with it like a baby, wiping the floor and table with it, drapping it round their shoulders like supergirl and today, Alycia draped it round her head and pretended to be 'white riding hood'. When I tried to pull the nappy off her head before she went for her afternoon nap, she refused to let me touch it and cried for a while as I had untied and messed up the hood. So I had to drap the nappy back and secure it tightly to pacify her before quietly removing it when she's soundly asleep. Siau or not you say?

Bliss and Peace

As I am typing this post, I am typing it peacefully and blissfully as DH has brought the gals out for fish head noodles with my maid. Then, DH will bring them to the chinese medicine hall to buy a few boxes of Enfagrow A+ and later to the cake house to buy their favorite chiffon cake. I have around 1 hour to quickly finish up the remaining offers I have. The house is so quiet without the gals, no screaming, no whining and I get to rest my throat.

All Sorts Of Funny Antics

Sherilyn is always full of antics and surprises. Last night, she was staring at herself at the full-length mirror in our room and made all sorts of funny faces. Then, she pulled the skin underneath her eyes and to her horror, she saw 'blood'. She then ran to me and said "mummy, my eyes got blood". I then told her that it's normal and assured her that it's ok. She accepted my reassurance happily and then continued pulling the skin beneath her eyes and growled "whhhoorrrrr, whhhoorrrr, whhhoorrr......" as she pretended to be a monster.

Healthy Snack - Cherry Tomatoes

Another favourite snacks for me and my 2 lil' ones, cherry tomatoes. Alycia loves them a lot. I normally try to buy organic ones but if I can't find them, I'll get regular ones. It's also a great food for dieters as tomatoes have low GI (Glycemix Index) and rich in Vitamins and anti-oxidants.

I also love to use ripe tomatoes (blended into a paste) for cooking fish and minced chicken meat for the gals. Taste really good and is wholesome too.

My Next Honeymoon at SuperClubs

Our honeymoon 7 years ago was disastrous. I had a minor accident where I stepped onto a school of sea urchins whilst snorkelling at Phi Phi Island which left me hobbling for the next 1 month. I even had to undergo a minor surgery to remove the spikes from my foot. Hubby has promised me another honeymoon and I told him that on our next honeymoon, we should also renew our wedding vows and have a small party with relatives and close friends.

The other day, my friend suggested that I should check out SuperClubs.com, a website that provides all-inclusive vacations, including passports and luxury spa packages, to all age groups and for all types of travelers. Since I want a hassle-free vacation with lots of freebies, SuperClubs has an all inclusive honeymoons package which suits my needs. Weddings are also free at SuperClubs, so I can also have my wedding vows renewal ceremony at a resort of my choice from their many resorts. I can’t wait to plan this honeymoon and hope that this time, it will be non-disastrous but utterly blissful.

Blogthings - Do You Look Your Age

Saw this little fun quiz at Mommy to Chumsy's blog and gave it a try. I had expected to get this answer too coz I know I look way younger than my age, ahem.... well can be good and can be bad. Bad coz sometimes ppl don't take me seriously coz I look like a 'tau kei mui', especially when i'm not with my 2 gals and wear casually. Good coz I don't look hagard and don't look like my hubby's aunty or mother, haha...

You Probably Look Younger Than Your Age

You live a healthy lifestyle and know how to take care of yourself.
You'll probably have a youthful glow for many years.

Quota Maxed Out

Yesterday I was so happy when I saw quite a number of interesting offers from this advertiser's website for me to grab but when I clicked on the 'accept' tab, I got a message from this advertiser stating that I've taken the maximum campaign offers for this month and that I can only check back on 1 Aug 07. Jeez... i was really dejected.... all the see no touch nice nice offers and some paying USD20 per review on easy to write product. It could have been mine, mine, mine..... I've really enjoyed writing reviews for this particular advertiser. They have very interesting products and services which got me impressed and tempted me to purchase too. Now, i just cant wait for another 2 weeks+ to start accepting offers from them again. It's ok, one shouldn't be so greedy. I'll just relax and catch up on my severely deprieved sleep.

Power of Distraction On Whiny Toddlers

Being a mother has never been easy. You've got to have tons of patience, endurance, emotional stability, physical and mental strength and a creative mind to come up with lots of ideas to distract in the hope of subduing a whining and crying toddler.

Sherilyn was whining away yesterday morning after her daddy had left the house for the office. She kept saying she wants daddy, she wants daddy and cried and whined as she sat on her potty for a good 15 minutes.
I tried to distract her with books and toys and cooked up silly stories to distract her but she wouldn't buy mommies' stories and same old silly tricks. My eyes were scanning the entire kitchen looking for something new to distract her and I spotted a bottle of dried star anise on the shelf. I took out one for her to touch and smell and voila..... Miss Spitty Spat Cry Baby's eyes brightened up and she immediately let out a wide grin as she took the star anise and smelled it.

I think I should make a trip to the grocery shop today to shop for some new items to stock up which I can whip up at anytime to placate 2 whiny toddlers.

Nuts Over Nuts

From left to right : Raw organic brazil nuts, raw white pumpkin seeds, raw organic green pumpkin seeds, Menglembu groundnuts and raw almonds.

That's my stock of nuts and seeds. Since I am on a high protein and low carb diet, nuts and seeds are the best and most convenient snacks to munch on to rid myself of hunger pangs. Nuts and seeds are rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin B, zinc, fibre, magnesium, protein, selenium, iron, phosphorus, etc. etc. However eating too much may cause gout as they are high in protein. Since I am on a high protein diet, I drink juice from half a lemon every morning as lemon juice is known to neutralize uric acid (caused by protein). Yup, i kid you not, i am a real health nut and i am nuts over nuts.

Educational Toy

Sherilyn is good with this toy. During breakfast yesterday, she fixed the shapes puzzle in under 5 minutes without referring to the map. It looks easy to fix but can be quite tricky. Now, I've got a new toy to keep Sherilyn occupied whilst I work on my computer as she can spend close to an hour fixing the puzzle over and over again without any signs of getting bored with it.

A Worthy Investment In Education

Some people invest in shares, some in gold and others in property. Some smart ones will invest in education for if you have additional knowledge and education, they will bring you a sea of wealth in the future. Many people overwhelmingly believe that advanced learning is an investment that pays well. They believe that the benefits of higher education are equal to or greater than the time, money and energy invested.

If you too believe that investing in higher education will bring about many folds benefits and wealth, you might want to consider pursuing an online course at Capella University, an accredited online university that offers an extensive choice of graduate, undergraduate and certificate courses.

Insurance For Your Motor Vehicles

Getting a comprehensive motor insurance for your vehicles is very important and can save you loads of money when tragedies really do happen. I can vouch on that as DH and I have had our fair share of experiences on insurance claims on our cars. Many years ago when I just bought my very first car, I had crashed the rear part of the car when I accidentally reversed my car into a building. Thankfully my car was fully insured and the insurance company took care of most of the hefty repair costs to the building and my car. Last year, DH’s new MPV was badly damaged when it was submerged in flood water for more than 12 hours when our house was flooded. He had spent close to RM20k on repair works on his MPV only to loose his car a few months later to some professional car thieves. For the repair works, DH had to cough out the full payment as he did not purchase insurance to cover for flood and natural disaster. As for his stolen MPV, the insurer compensated him 80% of the purchase price of the vehicle.

If you are looking for a motor insurance for your vehicle, you might want to look online at Advantage Auto Quotes, a website where you can find insurance for all types of vehicles. The Advantage Insurance Quoting system allows insurance companies to compete giving you the best rates and the most affordable auto insurance policies anywhere for all types of drivers.

WFHM... Ain't No Easy Job

I've always wanted to be a Work-From-Home-Mom (WFHM). Well, PTL, my wish is granted and I have been working from home for almost 2 months now. I now have a sense of achievement when I see my money in my Paypal account growing and I have my financial freedom back. But only WFHMs would know that it ain't easy at all to be one. Amidst taking care of 2 high-needs, whiny, cranky and hyperactive under-4yo toddlers, I have to stay up late at nite and give up most of my hobbies to meet my deadlines. I look like a panda now with dark rings under my eyes and I feel sleepy most of the time. Well earning money is never easy, whether you work from home or from the office, there is still stress and sacrifices to be made. Ok, enough of ranting from me, I'll get back to work now.

I Can Buy 10 More Canes

This is a back-scratcher which I use to threaten the gals when they are naughty. Nope, I did NOT hit them till it's broken but my 2 brats hated this cane so much till they found a way of destroying it.
When I saw that the back-scratcher was broken, I said this to the gals "you think you both can get away, mummy can buy 10 more canes from the pasar malam tomorrow". Do I sound like an abusive mother?
I only have my smart genes to blame coz when i was younger, my elder brother and I always hid the cane and feather duster too ..... LOL!

My Simple and Healthy Lunch

That is my lunch today. Sugar-free peanut butter and sugar-free black sesame paste (my mil bought from Hong Kong) on toasted organic bread.

That's Adventist 3-seeds and grains bread. Since i've been quite busy lately and didnt have time to make bread, I bought organic bread instead. The bread is 100% flour-free and is made from sprouted wheat, grains and seeds. Suitable for diabetic and dieters. Not that suitable for toddlers though as it's quite hard to chew.

A Really Long Paid Post

Today, an advertiser received my bid to write about their product. Fuiyoh, the advertiser requested that I write 400 words on their product, no less but can be more. It's the longest review I have ever written. I spent close to an hour cracking my rusty head and begging it to pour out some unique ideas for me. With 2 brats constantly ka ka cau cau left and right, it really ain't easy to write paid posts, what more a post with 400 words. Sherilyn was trying to massage my head and 'wash' my hair by pulling them. I don't have thick luscious hair in the first place and this restless brat dying for my attention was pulling my thinning hair away. I'm really loosing hair writing paid posts. Alycia on the other hand was trying to be nice to mummy by massaging my hands but for pete's sake, how am i to type when my hands are being massaged leh? Anyway, I managed to pull through and have just submitted the post. Now, I've got 5 more to write and submit. Well, it's only 5 not 50 like some lucky blogging mommies. Oh how i wish i've got 50 to submit too. Looks like I have to stay up late tonight to complete my assignments.

Tag : Love Link

Got tagged by Scribbles For My Angels again.

Since this is a love link tag, I'd like to take this opportunity to say a very BIG thank you to all my loyal readers and fan-sees for your continued support and readership. LOVE you all.

*************************************************************************
Here're the rules of the tag :

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion. You need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3. Take the adds from the blog that added you and place them in the “Originals” list.

4. Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO FOLLOW plugin to the list in the “My Adds” section. (Add no more than 5!) Let the people you’ve added know, so that they can keep the list going!

Alternative To Local University

Many Sixth Formers in Malaysia nowadays get really dejected when their application for gaining entry into local universities get rejected. They are normally straight A students, bright, all-rounders and high spirited. For these students, it’s like the end of the world for them when they receive news that despite their outstanding STPM results, their application into local universities are rejected. It’s really a big blow to them as most of these students come from low income to middle income families who cannot otherwise send them to study in a university abroad.

However, help is on the way for these students as they can now study online to get a university degree at Capella University, a fully accredited online university established 14 years ago in USA. These students can work part-time to finance their own studies and study part-time online to achieve their dreams of earning a degree from a well-known university abroad. With this news, there's really light at the end of the tunnel for these students.
